With billions of dollars being spent on social programs, bail-outs and foreign "aid"- why can't they install cameras on top of Police cars which cover 360 degrees? Preferably for every minute of patrol if not at least have it available to turn on when the officer gets out of the car or when someone is approaching the car. Call it a Car-Cam or something. With the car camera rolling....and also their body camera, is it unreasonable to EXPECT police officers to shoot only for the lower extremities when confronted or cornered by a violent/crazed/angry individual who doesn't have a gun and is 10-20 (?) feet away? Why can't cities or states run some kind of basic commercial, advertisement or public service to be shown during the evening news or during other programs expressing the possible danger to both police and citizens when you do NOT show or raise your hands when confronted by a police officer.... There has to be some wording or portrayal which doesn't make people feel as if it's a police state and police harassment or misconduct won't be tolerated. Don't we have enough lawyers to settle on some kind of message? For crissakes, there are still plenty of people who think nothing can happen if you innocently reach under your seat or for the glove box in your car if you are pulled over by the police. The mainstream media/press - they can help out alot if they did their jobs and stop choosing sides and ask the tough uncomfortable questions to ALL SIDES INVOLVED, the representatives of authority AND the self appointed activists.
A while back an individual in I think a Walmart Store snatched a womans baby. When the cop came in to "negotiate" he calmly did so and while in the process shot the perp dead. All went home happy, mama got her child, cop did his job, and the perp did not cost the state for a long lengthy trial. In dealing with the police from my own experiences I first remember they are armed, co-operation and courtesy go a long way to resolving a situation.
Actually those 360 degree cameras have been around since the late 70s, that I know of. The 360 laser lock cameras on those F-117A's were purchased from Northrop way back in 1980 on. With several models now to choose from. A night vision laser tracker, a regular "360 day time stalker", or a lock and load camera. Hell they even have one with bells and whistles on it. Only prob is they are way to expensive to fit one to any radio car. IF they had a couple of Mil, to buy the software and hardware necessary to program and analyze the data from each camera's feed. One can even buy one with innate counter measures, and tons of other treats too.......
