Padres did not tender contract to former all star SS. I know he has baggage but maybe worth a look?

He could be worth a shot. Altho' I doubt he's going to get picked up. I'd like to know why he's never played in more than 115 games, (his max) or 481 games in 6 years? He must be injury prone???*** I don't know, but am only assuming as much. His B'avg, fluctuates alot with a .248 avg in those 6 years. However he did lead the NL with 44 stolen bases in 012; while playing in only 115 games. If healthy the kid may have a bright future, for a 28 year old.
Everth has also made a ton of errors at SS.

*** Jill, do you know why he's been on the DL so often, I don't?????

Check out the games he's played in, his B'avg, and his quantity of errors for each year....at:

I'm not giving up on my inconceivable dream, of seeing Tulo at Short. I know keep dreaming. Jed Lowrie would be fine, yet I still don't get why the Yanx passed up on Andrelton Simmons, only to draft a lifetime Minor Lg. Pitcher Cito Culver.

Simmons was the 70th overall draft pick of 2010, and Culver the overall 32nd pick. Culver went in the 1st round, Simmons the 20th pick of the 2nd round......my head is spinning....!

To me anyone is better than Drew. They have done nothing to this point and all other teams in division minus the Rays have gotten much better. Hope things happen next week at the winter meetings.

Per Rosenthal on "Hot Stove" the man has hamstring issues, got popped for Marijuana DUI in San Diego, and was one of those players suspended for biogenesis. Image he and A-hole on the left side>

Don't mean to sound redundant & I really want to be wrong but I just can't shake this bad feeling that its going to be Drew.

A nice bit of "stay tuned bait" was put out by Rosenthal this AM with a potential massive trade operation that could involve the Dodgers, Rockies, and Mariners with Tulo & Cargo being mentioned as trade pieces. Sounded interesting with the usual this team needs this, and that team has that yada, yada. Winter meetings could be very interesting this year.

    E. Cabrera: career -.248/.319/.333/ .652 OPS....yeesh,
..good speed, lead league in SB couple yrs ago, never hit more than 4 HRs in a season.
If he plays very good defense and steals alot of bases, I guess I can live with that for now until he either improves, or we dump him. lol
Would prefer giving some farmhand the chance, can he be worse than Cabrera's .652 OPS ?

Stephen Drew- which Stephen Drew should/could we expect to see in 2015?

    a) His current career numbers including a horrible last year:
.256/.322/.422, good defense, avg approx 15 HRs per yr.
    b) His career numbers excluding last year without ST: .264/.329/.425, good defense, approx 16 HRs per yr.
    c) Last year: .162/.237 /.299, 7 HRs
    d) somewhere between last year and his career numbers.

Unless this guy has lost it all in one season at age 31 and has fallen off the earth, I still believe at this point, he could very well bounce back with a full ST and put up very decent numbers with 12 - 15 HRs along with good defense.

I double that Norway; I mean no way. Not even Casham is that stupid to allow Drew to play SS as Jeter's replacement. I mean Cashman does some off the wall stuff, yet, no one could be that brain dead, to even tender Drew an offer. Maybe the A+ Jethawks, where he hit in the .380s, with 10 Hr's in but 38 games.

At this juncture I'd think they might pass too, yet they too could use a 2nd baseman.....Coming back to this god forsaken desert is enough of an inspiration to not want to come here, so the kids tend to play good enough to get the hell out of this wind tunnel of dirt, heat galore, and freezing ass cold too....

Looking at Cabrera's numbers alone, I'd take Tony Kubek over Cabrera, Drew too....:devilwink:

However take a look at the lack of offense, defense, and more than anything the lack of consistency in Cabrera's past years of half play....too cold to even talk about....

Rob I don't see 2nd base as a problem. I mean even if they don't give this kid Rysnyder a shot at that position you still have Prado. Right now I think the main focus is at SS & then at 3rd. All the more reason that someone like Lowrie makes perfect sense. JMO.

I take it Derek found the Ponce De Leon Fountain of Youth, and acts, and plays like he did in 95-96. Even Ponce couldn't find that pool.....What I'd give to have Jeter all over again, hell Mo' too, especially Mo', Pettite and Posada, hell dunk all the NY Yanx stars in that fountain of youth. Yogi Berra, if only the pool could resurrect those who passed...
