I like it the idea of a power bullpen. Consider CC for 200+ innings for 25 Million or Miller and Robinson for 160+ innings for 19-24 Million per year.
...I missed it by $1 Mil. ...now, if they could somehow also retain DRob it would make for a helluva BP.
I would love to see that happen. That would compensate for the lack of offense currently on roster. Plus if any of the kids show signs of being a difference maker in the pen we would have an asset(s) to trade.
Miller- great acquisition. Add one more top reliever, DRob or one of their top reliever prospects - then the Yanks can once again close out a lead after 5-6 innings like the good old days lol GO YANKS!
...yeah, like I said, I'd love for it to happen and maybe the news of the Miller contract will make DRob rethink his position on his contract demands. (Papelbon money)...maybe they can reel DARob in though I think it's a longshot. ...but also like I said earlier, I see the Greene trade as a sign that they'll sign one of the big name FA pitchers.
ditto : Hopefully D-Rob will come to his senses, and realize Houston is a few more years from becoming a Playoff team, than he thinks. In other words, unless he's signing a minimum of a 4 year contract with the Stro's he's going to miss out on Post Season Play. D-Rob and Miller would be a great combo for Betances to follow. Give the Yanx a BP like they haven't had in ages. In order to reel him in, the Yanx need to quit using Power Bait, or Artificial Lures, and try using live bait. 1 sure fire way to lure in the big Kahuna Tuna, D-Rob envisions himself to be, (worth Papelbon Money, tho' Papel is not worth his own paycheck either)....and humbly accept a double increase in salary. 4 years/40 Million$$$, and add some offense, then D-Rob is finally back in Post Season...
Let me know when we sign up grade over Drew at short. A solid 3rd baseman or a starting pitcher. These band aid moves are nice but I'm still waiting for a real bandage type move.
...weren't you one of the ones who was saying "anyone but Drew"? ...and you were also one of the ones who said "there's plenty of time before opening day". ...it's the 1st of December...and the Winter meeting have not even started yet.
Yes & yes, You gotta forgive me Ron, I guess I'm just starting to panic a little watching all the moves being made (mostly within our own division) while the Yankees appear to just be watching the ships go by. But yeah you're right, its early yet.
________________________________ Toronto still needs pitching - alot of pitching. Baltimore has just lost Markakis, Cruz AND Andrew Miller. TB ? Boston? pitching?
...I still gotta believe that Cashman is going to land another starter, hopefully one of the big names. Otherwise, trading Greene away for a gamble on Gregorius makes very little sense to me.
