Is there any doubt at all now?

Gordon got smushed by tOSU. Gordon had 26 carries for 76 yards. 2.9 yard per carry average and zero touchdowns.

I think we can put Gordon to bed. There's no doubt in my mind that MM will take home the hardware.

There goes his shot at having a decent NFL career. Mariota has just become the next Tim Tebow.

so you're saying he'll lead a team to a playoff victory for the first time in years while setting a record for most 4th-quarter/OT comebacks in his first season? OK.

Actually I think he's going to be the next Charlie Ward.

Raiders are going to draft him and try and turn him into a receiver/tight end.

Marcus should have no problem winning the Heisman now and WILL, he separated himself from Gordon this weekend without a doubt!

Marcus is a super smart kid with a great arm and can move... He'll be the next Steve Young I think!

Should the Blazers nab him in the second round?

Doesn't seem like the Heisman is getting much press this year, is that because Mariota is just that dominant or because he's from the west coast and no one really knows who he is?

speaking only for here in FL, he's gotten press for a couple of years. He's not some unknown. :dunno:

But for the first time in a few years, there's no "story" other than "most outstanding player." No "First Freshman winning", no "Famous Jameis", no "God and Puppies"...it's just a great player getting the award. And that'd be the case if UO was 8-4 and Gordon was winning it.

Now, if Winston had played well enough to even be in the running for it, I think it would've been bigger. "Can Winston Overtake Mariota to win back-to-back" is a pretty good story, regardless of how it would've turned out.

Does it seem to any of you for the last few days that the sports media heads are trying to put doubt in the minds of the voters concerning Marcus and the Heisman?

Listening to Trevor Matich, Andre Ware and now Mel Kiper, it really seems like their motives is to get a non QB the award this go around. Why might be the question?

I heard Andre Ware saying that Amari Cooper should get the nod because he's utilized his talent the most without having the ball in his hands every play. That's rich coming from Mr. Run and Shoot Ware! How many times was the ball in his hands a game? Ironic for sure!

Then I heard Trevor say he thinks Winston is best QB but his off the field problems cost him the vote. Really? So sexual misconduct and theft and publically degrading women for anyone in shouting distance isn't Heisman material? Who knew! He went on to say Winston has done more with a bunch of freshman this year than all other QB's. Really? Meet our staring lineup, Royce Freeman, Carrington, Allan, Crosby and Nelson and that with a make shift offensive line all year! Oh there's a difference Trevy, Marcus isn't backed by a 5 star O line two deep to find his five star skilled players and yet still manage to only throw 2 pics vs. 20 + for King Crab Legs!

Then I hear Kiper stating this morning that Marcus isn't a "Franchise QB" because he hasn't thrown into tight spaces and all his receivers are wide open. So our offense works and you don't pay attention to the bullets he does thread to guys like Carrington in the Pac-12 championship? Marcus has touch and speed and accuracy + when he has to he can run away from pretty much anyone on the field! So maybe it's a question of intellect then Mel at the next level? Ya think Winston will ever graduate Florida State let alone carry 20 units in a semester of bio chem while doing it? Trust me they'll have to chop the play book for Winston not expand it like they will for Marcus!

I'm not sure why all these "SO CALLED EXPERTS" are getting on the anti Marcus train this close to the vote, but it's clear it's done neither out of stats or body of work. On those two issues the Heisman is clearly Marcus's!

They're just trying to provide a storyline that differs from the norm. There's nothing interesting in saying "Mariota is great, should win the Heisman, and will be successful in the NFL." They have to say something different, otherwise their take has no value.

Fair Enough, but Kiper saying Marcus isn't a franchise QB boils my feathers!

after being won by Manziel & Winston, is the Heisman trophy worthy of Marcus Mariota?

    ^Thats dope.

But, I bet he is way out of his element with all this Heisman stuff. He's not really the look at me type.
