Saw this on MLBTR. Anyone else seeing Jody Reed as the front runner?

No wait....the Asst. Hitting Coach is all the new rage. Get with the shift, closer by committee and ASC....baseball circa 2015.

I said it before I'll say it again, as far as hitting against the shift you have to have like a "Curse jar" where this one would be every time you don't hit against the shift a $1000.00 goes into the jar.

They open up the ENTIRE left side of the field, they're literally giving you a hit, why the fuck wouldn't you take it?. The jerk would increase his avg by 20 points points every year.

    speaking of "trends"-

I've been reading about and hearing on MLB Network about how the Yanks and other teams are trying to use the same bullpen blueprint the Royals used with their three shutdown relievers....putting less emphasis on having SP going deep into games.

Of course there's nothing wrong with having three excellent relievers (KC) to close out games after the 6th inning.......

.....but this is nothing new- there have been other teams in the past who have used "3" relievers to finish the game.
The nasty boys of the Reds, and the championship Yankee teams of the late 1990s. How about Stanton, Nelson, Mariano?
Actually, those Yankee teams had one of the best balanced bullpens ever.
They also had the luxury of having an additional component in Ramiro Mendoza who could pitch as a long reliever and/or an inning or two with his nasty sinking fastball.

...^^^ yup, and like they also pointed out, a stacked BP won't make a difference unless the starters also churn out quality starts.
