____________________________ Well, he isn't exactly an ace-type. I'm sure the Yankees want to fry bigger fish.
Certainly not worth the money they're going to pay him. My guess the $10M+ range. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hammeja01.shtml
Yep, 10 mil to a pitcher with an overall losing record. The man just flat out stunk with Oakland. Speaking of jokes the MLB Now panel is Dork Rose, Redneck Millar, and Harold Reynolds. MLB Network needs to seriously consider making some personnel changes.
________________________________ He is a good example of the prototypical mediocre (at best) "warm body" filling spots on rosters . Career 4.60 ERA, 1.39 WHIP
_____________________________________ Baseball owners don't need me to consult but, I think with all of these mediocre/slightly better than avg players commanding tens of millions of dollars- I would tend to just cut these guys loose and promote my better young minor leaguers sooner than later. And if they are solid prospects or have certain good skills, how much worse can they be? There's also always a chance they can blossom into very good-excellent players. If things don't work out - MOVE ON, bite the bullet and wait for other opportunities and chances to acquire/promote players.
Not much money in 2015. I find it funny that the libs go after Wall Street money when Hollywood stars and pro athletes make more than most CEOs and top execs.....oh wait, n/m....stars and jocks are their donors.
