That's awesome!!!! It's really nice to watch events like this. Sometimes fans put players at some unrealistic level. They are justas human as anyone else
The Wizards won Monday in dramatic fashion, 133-132 in double overtime against the Celtics, and John Wall was the hero for Washington. However, after the game, his mind was on another heroic effort, one that ended in a very unfortunate loss. Six-year-old Miyah had lost her battle with cancer, and Wall, who had befriended the girl months earlier, was disconsolate. In a postgame interview, he was unable to hide his grief: Miyah (full name: Damiyah Telemaque-Nelson) was diagnosed in October 2013 with a form of cancer known as Burkitt’s lymphoma. Her relationship with Wall began this past March, after the guard heard about her desire to meet Nicki Minaj. Wall pitched in with the effort, and along the way he and Miyah became pals. The Wizards star tweeted out this message on Monday, after the game:“If you were blessed to meet and get to know Miyah you know how special of a little girl she was. I’m saddened by the news but I know that she’s in a better place. Keep her family in your prayers. I’ll definitely miss my buddy. Rest In Peace Miyah.” In postgame comments that can be seen here, Wall said he got the news about Miyah’s passing around midday Monday. “Just knowing how hard she fought for it, and her last game she was supposed to be able to come to was the Lakers game [a week ago], but she got even more sick and couldn’t make it. So it was tough for me. I know it was tough for her family. … This game was really meant for her, so it would have been even tougher to lose it, and I think God has a plan, and I just went into a mode where I didn’t want to lose this game.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...es-a-young-friend-and-he-cant-hide-his-grief/
