Per Joel Sherman if the Yankees can't land Headley at 4 and 40 million, they'll go with Prado at 3rd, Refsyder at 2B, and use the money for an additional starter. Right on, give some of those kids a chance, if Headley won't come in at a reasonable price let him walk.

I agree, part of our overall plan has to be to get younger and more athletic, that comes with risk but is worth the reward if the young players have success. And I don't mean hitting 300, with 30 HR's and 100 RBI success. Reasonable expectations. Hell, remember when Cano came up, the expectations weren't that high as compared to what he became on the field, yet he was an upgrade.

He made more then that last year so they might have to go a little higher. But from what I hear he's looking in the range of 4 years @ 65M which is a joke.

...I'm waiting for someone to explain why any team would spend the kind of money on Headley that has been reportedly been offered.

...how many good years has Headley had in which he distinguished himself?

Yankees are really penny pinching. Let's hope they go after Scherzer.

    ...^^^ what you said....!

Outrageous money being asked by todays players, as if money were no object to any team. WTF-does everyone think they're entitled to all be Millionaire Commodities, unlike Mays, Mantle, et al, who loved playing the game, and money was not the 1st priority as simply playing the game they loved to play the most.....

What a era this is....compared to the 50s, early 60s. A Nation and National Pastime in decadence at its worst....!!!

...exactly....but according to "reports", he supposedly has a 4 year/$65 Mil offer on the table?...I'm calling BS on that story...if he was actually offered that, he's nuts for not taking it before the team's GM changed his mind.
