The only reason he came here was because of the under the table money given to him by Reser Foods. It's like Nike money but tastier.

And that is a quality hire! Great job Beavers!

Idk what to think, he won at Wiconsin with Bielema's kids not his own. Before that he was USU's HC and he did have some pretty good players, Bobby Wagner/Robert Turbin.

How many Grey Cups has this Anderson guy won? According to Beaver fans that's the true measure of how good a coach is.

The rumor is that Barry Alvarez is a micromanaging pain in the @$$, and that after getting berated for the 59-0 debacle, Andersen couldn't get out of Madison fast enough. Apparently he's also pretty tight with Bronco Mendenhall (who was Oregon State's first choice), and that relationship had an impact on Andersen coming to Corvallis.

Welcome Gary Andersen! I will not be missing Mike Riley, the coach with the most wins at OSU but he never stacked up with the likes of Coach Prothro, Dennis Erickson, and Dee Andros.
Andersen may have it. I hope he does.

Mike Riley ended up doing them a favor, they got an upgrade in the end.

I think he's going to be a very good coach but I'm not so sure about his recruiting abilities. A coach needs to be good at both to build a top team long term.
