    I wake up this morning to the news that the Dodgers signed McCarthy. At this rate we mine as well pencil them in for signing Headley and everyone else who is left.

    Does this mean the Yanks go dumpster diving again for pitchers and position players? Or will they pony up money for Scherzer and Headley or trade for a 2nd or 3rd baseman?

    Seems like we have a bit of a pickle on our hands again this season. Oh joy.

    Cashman showers and sings the old Gene Pitney favorite altering the lyrics to "In the eyes of the crowd, I'm a do nothing kind of a guy". I'd like to know what he had on the Katzenjammer Kids to get his contract extended. Read about that Mc Carthy signing on ESPN late last night.

    Unfortunately, I must say again that I don't see the Yankees taking on any big contracts until the problem ones they have are cleared out.
