Padres must have done this deal just to make a splash end resulting in a high price addition to a team that is more than one or two players from contention. The man has seemed to be a bit of a head case over the last couple of seasons but I guess there is talent remaining in his tank. Pretty bad when there are no takers for Ethier or Crawford, big bucks limited production. I remember seeing Crawford at Tropicana when has was a damn good player, he's been a complete dud since leaving Tampa Bay.
