Cashman is a bumbling idiot so he had to sign Headley. The roster would be a disaster if he signed elsewhere.
I would like to know which team allegedly offered Headley 65 million, Actually the Yankees had a good plan if Headley was not retained, Prado at 3rd, Refsnyder at 2nd, then go on forward.

Like I said the guy had one good year so yeah, if they gave him anymore then 3 years or $11- $12M per I'll lose my mind.
I hope it is a BS story, I can think of a dozen ways or players that much money could be spent on, for a better investment of another Ball Player or Commodity, as they're known today...!
...Headley may be better defensively but I'd just as soon have Prado at 3B if ARod cannot cut the mustard...and if that happens and they need someone at 2B, let one of the kids battle it out for the job. ...I think this may be a case of Cashman feeling he just "had to do something" because he "didn't do anything" at the Winter meetings.
