Re: Dalembert: "I'm lost, I'm confused"
QUOTE

Philly Burbs -Maurice Cheeks wants Samuel Dalembert to be a more physical, dominant interior defender.Dalembert's response??I'm lost. I'm lost,? said Dalembert after yesterday's 76ers practice. ?I'm confused what he means by physical play. Actually, I'm getting in foul trouble, so I want to know exactly what physical play means.?If you mean offensively, my job is not really to be an offensive player. That's what I've been told. In terms of defense, yes, there's a lot of stuff. ... Usually, I don't get my fouls on my man ? I get my fouls on helping out or when somebody's not rotating. That's tough.?
Source: Philly BurbsFirst of all, it's way too easy to make fun of him and that quote... so I'm not even going to bother.I do see where he is coming from though... he is right. Most of his fouls come when he has to try and erase other players' mistakes, but then again he also makes his own stupid plays. He needs to become smarter on both sides of the ball.
Re: Dalembert: "I'm lost, I'm confused" I don't like Dalembert, he's a good defender but I don't see him helping the sixers in that way or many other ways. I beleve there are better centers in the league that would do a better job as a big man for the 76ers.

I don't mind steven hunter as a player but I don't think he'd be the type of center to start games...so what im saying is that the sixers need different big men on there team and they don't neccerly have to be better in someways but yeh idkkkkkkkkkkkk .There's no way the sixers are gonna win many games with dalembert, they need more than that and I don't know the solution to this really lol **
Re: Dalembert: "I'm lost, I'm confused" ---- get David West, Drew Gooden, Mehmet Okur even Kendrick Perkins & Mike Sweetney at the 4 spot, they all can do a better job than webber right now. (even though webber isnt going anywere with that salery, mabye trade dally for a foward)and for a new center. .. im clueless atmsixers need to shake things up and it should start with getting rid of webber and dalembert.

Dalembert and Hunter are similair. There both athletic and can rebound and block shots. Yeah, the Sixers need that, but they also need someone to get them tough buckets down low, and even though Webber is still capable of being a 17-20 point scorer in the league, it's off of elbow jumpers and jump-hooks from 10 feet. You guys remember when the Sixers made it to the finals? They had Canadian Bacon and Tyrone Hill inside to get them points in the paint, even though neither of them were offsensive juggernauts.
Re: Dalembert: "I'm lost, I'm confused" o yeah you like mike sweet ... how about you guys trade us sam for sweets... im sure bulls will do it .
Re: Dalembert: "I'm lost, I'm confused" Dalembert needs to add some muscle. That is where he can improve his ability on the defensive end/rebounding.

Size wise, hes bigger than alot of teams going with smaller centers now a days.He just needs to be more polished on offense. Develop some sort of dominate move or jumpshot. I would be satisfied if he could up his average a little to 12-15 ppg.

If he can get to 280 like Diop than I think he will a little more intimidating to drive through. The key is if he can keep his body fat down and get pure muscle.

Afraid of getting their shot blocked, yes. He's already intimidating from that standpoint. He would be a better player IF he could keep that agility, but gain that weight in muscle so he could get more baskets down low.
Re: Dalembert: "I'm lost, I'm confused" He just needs to get smarter... and I'm happy with him. He picks up so many stupid fouls because he can't make the right decision... He's a project, and keep in mind this is only his third season of actually playing in the league (I believe), so I'm willing to give him another year or two. I don't want to trade him yet because he's not going to bring us a player that will help us contend for a championship anytime soon, so there is no use in dealing him now.If Hunter and Daly pan out, they are a nice big man combination for us in the future, and then we would be missing that offensive-minded big man that could score for us down low.
Re: Dalembert: "I'm lost, I'm confused" I'm fine with Dalembert really. He's a good rebounder and shot blocker, although he does seem to make stupid fouls and mistakes. There aren't many standout centers in the league right and Dalemebert is doing fine in his role with the Sixers. He isn't meant to score points, but to bring a defensive presence on the floor.
