Nice little article. My hope and prediction is if his hitting improves only a little more (he has some pop) AND especially show good improvement vs LHP, the Yanks will have their "future Shortstop". http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...opens-replacing-derek-jeter-article-1.2043399
Honestly a good article. Let's hope young Didi figures out his prob with lefties. Ichiro did it, Matsui did as much .300 for most part against either and both. Other's who come to mind, without looking up spit stats, may been Brett, Gywnn, Carew??? Even Donnie BB....
Read a similar article a few days ago, the man has youth, defensive skills, and a great attitude, and the fans will have something to look forward to on game day.
He's listed at 6'2" 205 lbs, good size SS - We sometimes tend to expect too much, but I can envision him taking advantage of RF at YS. He MUST show decent improvement (OBP?) on his current numbers vs LHP to justify playing him every day which should also raise his overall total slash numbers. (ba/obp/sgl%)... ...needless to say, if he regresses vs RHP....."Houston, we have a problem" This player, trade, could be one of the more important moves the Yanks/Cashman have made in recent history. He is your basic very athletic, highly skilled, unproven inexperienced young shortstop lol, with the potential for a high ceiling.
