And while I know you don't like Hayes dump, he has been very solid and is getting better. CLEARLY he needs to improve on FO's, but I am sure he will keep working to get better and better. And outside of that he is very solid at all other aspects of the game. I am also not that focused on D unless it is a physical presense. Moore or Hunwick as your 6th dman is solid. I am still focused on adding another top 9 forward to lengthen the lineup. We'll see what Sather does.
The d was excellent but the offense took a night off. I guess they wanted to win by playing defensive hockey against the mighty oilers.
How about you just be happy they won Step and have now taken 3 straight. If they could find a way to win tomorrow night in Calgary, won't be an easy game, that would be a great trip to Western Canada (I am already happy they got at least 4 of 6 on the trip West...but all 6 would be awesome). Calgary has lost 5 straight, and has to come home after a game in Chicago last night. Good time for us to play them I think.
I'll tell you one thing about Calgary, we better be aware on D. Their dmen activate on O a ton. Giordano has 8 goals, 30 points (leads team), and is a + 14. Brodie has 6 goals, 23 points, and is a + 16. And Wideman has 10 goals (3rd on the team). Active D. We better be awake and ready for the D to come in behind the forwards AND be ready to move quickly to get out of our zone because their D gets down deep.
Hopefully we don't spell the remedy for a slumping Calgary team. Taking all six points in Western Canada would be fantastic.
I am happy, chuck. Just thought they would score more goals against the worst team in the league. Now, go out and get 2 points in Calgary and I will be ecstatic
First time in their history to sweep the 3 Northwest Canadian teams in 20 attempts. Great job guys. No time to let up. Let's keep it going. Of their next 14 games, nine are on the road. With other East teams winning, no time for the Rangers to let up.
