Edmonton. Where they hire a former captain as coach, fire him, bring him back as GM, where he fires the coach and then makes himself coach.

Whatever woes we may have here in Rangerland, it must be absolute purgatory to be an Oiler's fan.

Good god, what a dumpster fire out there....

bunch of dogs up there in Edmonton. Get rid of the rich 21yo clowns first, and get some real dmen for f's sake.

I would hire Eakins right away if I was Carolina or Phoenix. He's a very talented, young coach. Shame is dumbass GM doesn't understand that you actually need to draft goalies and defenseman instead of wasting picks on prima-donna forwards every high pick.

    Maybe they'll bring Renney back.

It is amazing what is going on out there. They have had # 1 pick after # 1 pick, and pretty much drafted the same player over and over again. Highly skilled softer forwards (and making a big mistake drafting Hall over Seguin didn't help either). At some point either get smart and "reach" a pick or two for a dman or goalie OR deal down for some grit/D/goaltending.

Crazy stuff. Maybe we can get a forward from them to give us some depth for the top 9.

Strange, they drafted that guy Nurse but he's not even good enough to beat out their dmen yet?

Eakins was not the right coach for this oiler team. They need someone like Torts who can teach them how to play d and kick their asses. I wonder if Lowe will look at hiring Torts. The strange thing is both lowe and mactavish were both excellent defensive players but have no clue how to build a good all around team with all these high picks

Dude, you are so lost on the sport of hockey. I'm glad I looked at this thread before I logged in to see that ridiculous posts. Torts is the last thing they need. Get a clue. You don't need a coach who ruins the offense of almost every player he coaches and banishes people when they don't block shots. What they need is to change the roster. You can't have 5 tools like Hall, RNH, Yakupov, Perron and Eberle on the same team. I would move Hall, Perron and Eberle. Hall can bring back the greatest return. I would think they could get O'Reilly and McGinn for Hall. That is a deal I would make provided O'Reilly would sign a 3 year extension before the trade was final. Those are the kind of the players they need.

Yea, the Oilers have gone through enough coaches. It's not them, it's the stupid players. That roster needs an overhaul and the job the GM has done there is pathetic given the number of #1 picks, and probably another one in next year's draft. It's embarrassing.

I agree that they need to get rid of some of these skilled guys to bring in more defensive, character type guys. Eakins might be young, talented coach but he never coached on the NHL level so he got thrown into tough situation with all these young guys. Torts knows how to deal with the primadonnas and has won the cup. So don't fucking tell me that he cant do a better job than Eakins.

BTW...I think it is time for you to refill your medication prescription.

The Rangers should make a package deal for Perron and Petry. Send J.Moore/Fast/Kristo/2nd

Combined them into the next Jari Kurri, I don't know..:) Actually it wouldn't work cap wise, the Rangers would be over by 4m.

No, no, no, no. Don't give up Fast. Fast is incredibly valuable because he can play on the 4th line, chip in 20 to 30 points and play mistake free defense. You really need guys like that. The team started doing better ever since he was on the 4th line. There is no way you would get Perron and Petry for that. Enough with Perron. Right now the Rangers need a better left handed defenseman on the bottom pair. They can get that without giving up a roster player or a top prospect if they package Moore with somebody.
