However, I will agree that the team is scoring a lot more. However, you have to look at it as follows. Suppose Nash goes down. Who scores on this team? There are basically no goal scorers on this roster other than Nash. St. Louis is old. While he's still good, he's not what he was.
Not bad for a team that sucks. We suck and have won 4 straight. CBJ sucks and they have won 7 straight. I'd love to suck like that.... In all seriousness, great job out there. No excuse Saturday or Sunday either. Home and home with the Canes who have lost 6 straight and have the least amount of points in the NHL. Wonder if Hank goes back to back again...I will say no.
Typical Chuck. You get excited over a win vs the worst team in hockey, a win vs. a team that is falling apart in Calgary and a win vs. the Canucks who aren't playing well. Again, completely ignoring the fact this team gave up 32 goals in 6 games to Toronto, Tampa and the Islanders.
The ony thing typical is you nit-picking issues still. Of course we are far from a perfect team, exactly what I said last week when all the oh we suck threads were going on in here. BUT we have a solid team...no doubt in my mind. Not the best. Not even top 5 in the NHL. But a good solid team. From there we see if we improve, Sather can add the right player or two we need, and let the chips fall where they may in the playoffs, same as always. I do not speak in absolutes like you do. We clearly don't suck. We clearly are not great. We are a good solid team. That is all I ever said we were. We do have upside though with a great goalie finding his game as usual, a talented D with some very good guys at the top, and a better scoring team this season as well. With a struggling Zucc and Kreider we are still scoring a lot. Sure Nash is a big part of that, but he is not the whole team, and we still have 69 non-Nash goals and are 4th in the NHL in scoring. So far from perfect, need another forward still IMO, but this is a good solid team that can make noise in the playoffs again...I fully believe that. All I have ever said.
I believe that was the first time the Rangers have ever swept a West Coast trip so regardless of the opponent the 3-0 sweep is still impressive.
It's a good start but I wouldn't say great shape. The 6-7 game stretch to end 2014 is big. Columbus is playing better and you have the Islanders, Washington and Pitt. In the Atlantic you have Tampa, Montreal, Detroit and Toronto. The Bruins are lurking as well. The playoff race might be very tight. The Rangers need to win most games on this stretch and create some space plus get right in range of the Uslanders.
Given Hanks start + all the injuries I think this team is in great shape. Yes gotta keep winning but the injuries were brutal early on and the D has not played up to their ability. I like how the team has responded. Dump is right about Nash, cant afford him to go down but every team could say that. I just like that this team scores goals. The D is the D, I think they will find their game. Onward and upward. I think spring is bright for this team
Whether they win 4 and lose 3 in a row, just by watching them you can see they still need another top 9 forward who can get around the net and finish, plus maybe a bigger dman with a solid shot. That's why I thought a Harrison/Tlusty package deal in the next few months would solve both in one fell swoop. Chances are Carolina is packing it in by mid-January. Harrison is a very solid 5/6 guy and Tlusty is having a great year.
