Those Ole Miss fans certainly like to twitter spam Durant. (nothing official on him yet.) Bartlett is deciding soon, maybe oregon maybe not.
You know all these recruits who have been told that Oregon is in the dumpster once Marcus leaves are going to be miffed if Marcus comes back, or MM II turns out to be a rock star. I think it's masterful that our coaching staff hasn't mentioned Morgan much this year and then he just walks out and crushes it. He's had a great tutor for a year I think we can all agree. With the talent that kid has surrounding him next year, it's hard to think his numbers wont be NICE!
Waller now EE, so better QB competition. Bo news on Durant. Doherty deciding between oregon missouri next week.
he's never visited UO's campus and is supposed to announce his new school today... so none chance STOMP
Committed to Baylor anyway. No biggie So, what do on defensive side of the ball? Also, Daylon Mack de commits from TAMU and Murray posted a tweet of. Duck helmet and then deleted it. Plus his dad isn't a Sumlin fan.
Made the mistake of looking at the ESPN rankings. Alabama, FSU, and tOSU all rode their top 4 finish into a top 5 recruiting class. Ducks are 19th. WTF does it take?
Well it doesn't help that Oregon doesn't produce many 4 or 5 star athletes. We just don't have the same kind of local recruiting crop that the south or the midwest produces. Florida produces so many great athletes. They could pretty much exclusively recruit in-state and have a really good team. That's what Miami did forever.
More signs Doherty is probabl . Set to stay closer to home and go to Missouri, with our new db offer to nare meadors
Durant deciding tomorrow at 1, Many Ole miss fans think he is a lock and CB were trending that way and their fans spam him on twitter. Many think it is an ASU Ole miss battle with Oregon being on the outside.
Why do so many blue chips hate us Are other coaches saying that once Chip's kids leave we go to irrelevancy or something Or are players so poor they can't afford a flight out here
ONo one hates us, we are often bridesmaids, we just are not finishing strong this year and contrary to what STOMP says the restricted visits and how we have to juggle them has been hurting us.
Chip did not recruit Marcus, Helfrich found him and groomed him as the O coordinator and then head coach. Chip is being given credit for something he did not have much in the development of. Helfrich has earned his rep now. He's won the Pac, groomed a Heisman QB and is taking our team to the first ever playoff! Keep in mind Helfrich and Frost are responsible for better recruiting classes than Chip was able to bring in, while doing so under penalties that Chip in fact got us!
That's an opinion that you're welcome to. At least I back mine up with facts & my reasoning instead of just stating stuff like it's from on high. Subscribing to a site doesn't make one privy to what's actually happening inside the program STOMP
I just disagree with you we have 37 official visits this cycle. we generally use 41 on average and that was for classes with a smaller size. We've used over 30 so far, and have had to shy off on prospects like Sweat until we get a better feel for them. On a sanction free year we would get 4-5 more kids who might be on the fence or in a case like this year targets interested for spots where we are swinging and missing. You're just stating that you feel like we will end the class with extra official visits like other years... which isn't a fact and this isn't like other years. As for your statement about us landing kids who have already taken their offical that isn't happening. Tevis, durant, Spencer, have all gone elsewhere. Who's left? Merritt (possible but haven't heard any new news) Uluave (no longer considered a duck lean like many were thinking) Houston? Green ? Tell? Nothing strongly reported for them... though some mixed news on Tell. Having those extra officials meant we were able to bring in kids like Charles nelson after we lost Baker, and now things are just much Tighter.
I went over this recently crunching averages for the past 5 classes. Based on that and those who've used up their eligibility, I projected this class to be more or less the same as in the past 3 class... 20-21 kids. The last 3 classes that have averaged 20 per class averaged came following seasons where the Ducks averaged having 15 Seniors. The 2014 Ducks have 15 Seniors. With 17 commits already on board, thats only 3-4 more spots available by my guestimation. How many more then that are you projecting and please give some reasoning as to why you think this one should/will be larger then 21 obviously the coaches disagree with your opinion...but what do they know about Duck recruiting? I'm aware of 27 OVs used so far, and definitely not over 30. Since later in this same post I'm responding to you claim they've 9 OVs left, you're disagreeing with yourself good grief, when I state something is a guess of course it isn't a fact. You're pointing out nothing here. It's my guess that just like past years they'll end up with unused OVs just like it's your guess that they won't have any left over at the end... in fact you'll "be shocked" if they do. I base my guess in part because they've more kids already on board then in past years and not many spots left, some of which are very likely to be filled by kids who've already visited. the guys you've listed are all possibilities, I'd add Marquise Doherty to that list as one of the most likely... he's said to be deciding any day now. As in past years we may see flips to and from as well. I'd guess (alert! STOMP is guessing not relaying a fact) the quiet recruiting front is telling of the staff's collective confidence on whats happening behind the scenes. no silly. The fewer visits they've left then usual is more then offset by having 3 more kids then usual already committed. A bird in hand is worth...? I'm sure there are plenty of late rising kids from across the country who have Duck interest. Like Charles last cycle, they're sending in their Senior film and having conversations with the coaches. By having more commits then usual, the coaches have their pick of the litter of these pining to be a Duck kids for the remaining few spots. By my count they've 10 OVs left (not 9) and I see only 3 kids scheduled to be coming in (Neal, Hawkins, Meadors)... all three of those kids are thought to have high possibilities of commiting. Hawkins visit may hinge on Doherty's decision ect, so like every year even the scheduled visits are in flux. STOMP
