I feel they got the bad one out of the way against Carolina tonight. Plus, Ward stood on his head in this one. I think at MSG they get some in the net.
Yep, thats his issue. He plays way too much on the perimeter. It is time for Adam Graves to have a talk with him. LOL
Kreider should be a dominant player. He's not in the regular season. Guy has a 5 cent brain on how to use his talent. Right now, J.T. Miller is a better forward. The move Miller made on the breakaway is a move that Kreider's brain couldn't figure out how to use in a 100 years.
That Klein trade is turning out to be right up there with the McD deal as his best since being here. Far and away their best dman this year. Great he'll be around a few years.
The Boyle signing is looking unbelievably bad. Considering he only has one year left on his deal, Sather might be able to move him with a prospect. I don't know why they benched Moore for Hunwick. They should be benching Boyle.
I'm starting to be a little disappointed with Boyle, but i think he may get better in the 2nd half of the year, as perhaps the injury time is still affecting him. Having him on the pp is still a bonus he just needs to find shooting lanes, he's too unselfish.
No doubt Boyle has struggled, and he knows it. Really comes down to two things: 1. Are his struggles due to getting injured and then sick and missing a lot of games, so his timing isn't there? OR 2. Are his struggles due to getting old and losing his game? Obviously we hope it is # 1. We'll see as the season progresses.
The pp as a whole has been putrid, as they still don't have anyone who can regularly gain the zone and setup without dumping it in. That could be their downfall though they seem to battle through it in the playoffs to a point, until they face a team like LA.
Boyle claims that Sather did not hire him for December, but for the playoffs. Considering how little he's been effective, he sure thinks he's worth it. Who is he trying to convince?
Sather didn't sign Boyle to be an assistless turnover machine in December either. I liked the signing thinking Boyle would add that desperately needed shot on the PP but he seems to shy away from shooting the puck. Very rare for a guy to just turn it on and start scoring. I agree J. Moore brings much more to the table than Hunwick.
