I don't know how you can have a thread about the shot and not have a video of the shot

Every time I watch it I notice something new.

Did you see how Dame feigned a sort of disinterest right before he took off? That's some high quality acting right there

i think this is a video that is up there with the last play in the finals against Philadelphia (ball...5 seconds to go...).

You can watch it 1000 times, and still get goose bumps. It might be 15 years from now, and someone will post a video of it and go "holy shit, remember this?"

hopefully after a long and couple titles and a hall of fame worthy career, all in Portland of course!

Where does Lillard rank among all time Blazers (not using the finals as a criteria) in their first three seasons as a Blazer?

Dare I say he's arguably the best, most polished pro that has ever played in Portland?

Sure, Petrie put up great #'s, but he had to, there wasn't much else on the team at the time. Yes, I know they had Wicks and won the most (at the time) games as an expansion team, but that team didn't have a ton of talent.

Roy was pretty good, and I think Lillard is better than Roy.

Absolutely better. Why?! Lillard can play within a system where other players having plays called for them. Roy is just a better version of Harden, but has problems with other playmakers. Dillard would have no problem, using Blake as a reference...

I know it's putting the cart well before the horse, but could you imagine what kind of celebration would go on at the RG if they did win a title in Portland? I don't know if people would go home the rest of the night.

I would fly to Portland for the parade. It's been way tooooooo long for this great organization and fans to be without a title.

I've dealt with Laker fans rubbing "You don't have hardware" throughout my teens, twenties and thirties. We need one!

I know you said not counting finals as a criteria, but then Mags went off and started buying plane tickets and planning the parade route...

Remember Walton led the Blazers to a title in his 3rd season. Yeah, Walton's injuries held him back, but in terms of overall impact in his third season, I'd have to go with Walton for now. He just had such a huge impact on both ends of the court, when he was actually on the court. I do expect Lillard to pass him, if not this year, than probably next.

If I was old enough to appreciate that, I would have said it. It's just too hard for me to say since I didn't experience it first hand.

Walton when he was healthy would be my pick for all-time Blazer - bar none. When he was healthy and playing well, he was just incredible.

I think if Sabas had come over in his youth, he would have been better. Roy & Dame both show poise and calm as well but I'd still pick Walton over them. Of course, Walton was the first of a long-line of Blazer center health woes.

They get the joke. I've met the two I enjoy most a few times. They are really cool

Yep. Always fun to get both sides of the story, as well as a little behind the scenes stuff

Walton was my all time favorite college player (followed by Larry Bird) when I was a kid. I wanted to be Bill Walton.

Let's just hope we don't need a clutch shot against them tomorrow.

I played pick up ball in San Diego in 70-71 and got to watch Bill play a few games with the locals. He was amazing. I learned in those years that I needed a jump shot to play on those courts because I'd get my nose broken trying to finish a layup. Walton was amazing without even trying to be.
