<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Miami Herald -According to a league source, the Heat have been in contact with the Clippers about a possible trade for swingman Corey Maggette.Maggette has been on the trading block since last season, and the Heat have players that are in a similar salary range to Maggette, including James Posey and Antoine Walker.Maggette is under contract through next season with a player option for the 2008-09 season.</div>I like this trade for Miami, They are in desperate need of some perimeter scoring.
I guess they want Maggette out. I agree. He would benefit from a trade, and he did nothing in the playoffs for the Clipps. He's gotten worse in LA.Hmmm...James Posey + Michael Doleac + 2nd for Corey Maggette and Aaron Williams?
Walker for Maggette would not be liked by the Clippers fans.Posey would be a good deal.c - Shaq/Zopf - Haslemsf - Maggettesg - Wadepg - Williams/Paytonhmmm...
I love the Clippers, they are my second favorite team, but I don't think Miami is the place for Maggette to go. Corey Maggette is a 20+ PPG scorer, although he doesn't get that opportunity playing alongside Elton Brand and the other options on the Clippers squad. He doesn't even start, because of Quentin Ross and his defense. But he could be a number one option on a few teams. The Clippers would be interested in Posey, but I don't expect Walker to go to Los Angeles.
Well, I'm glad you guys are supporting Toine! :beee: But Maggette in Miami would be perfect, Walker in LA would not. Posey (as the main piece in the trade) for Maggette, not a good deal for the Clippers at all. They could get more for Maggette elsewhere.Miami would make out like bandits if they could swing a deal for Maggette by giving up either Walker or Posey as the main piece, but LA should not do this.

Posey's contract comes off the books after this season, so they would free up alot of cap room. Maggette isnt even wanted with the Clippers now. Posey provides shooting and defense, and hey, if they get a pick then that's also a plus.

He is just a black hole on whatever team he's on. It's about a 90% chance he's either going to make the shot, miss, or turn it over. And he's not that good of a shooter.Edit: by the way, that wasn't so much meant to be caustic towards Boston but more towards Walker
Wow...that would be a huge trade for Miami. Maggette is a very talented player and would do a great job there and they'd only have to give up 'Toine or Posey with some fillers? Damn...that would put Miami back in the Finals for sure. Once they get Shaq back that will be a dangerous team.
Oh my god, oh my god. I want Maggette now! I'll give up either of em. (preferably Toine) We have to persuit this opportunity agressively. He's exactly what we need. Someone who can create for themselves and lift some of the scoring wieght off of Wade's tiring back. Come on Riles!
I think neither trade makes much sense for the Clippers. I mean Posey is a free agent at the end of the year if I'm not mistaken. So your basically renting out a player by giving up your 6th man who I know they've been shopping but you don't just give him up like that. Now I know Walker is the other guy who fits with Magg's deal but I mean come on, it's Walker. He does not fit with the Clips team and why would they want him anyways? A rumor mill forum is needed to put these kinds of topics in imo. They waste space in General NBA and bump other topics out.

You guys would think much differently about him if you grew up with Toine in star-status with everything he did for the Celtics and the city of Boston. But I can't argue that so far this season, he is embarrassing himself.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>lol why the F*ck would anyone want Antoine Walker?</div>He wiggles!

So much hate on Antoine. :no1: I can see why, but I still love him for the little thing he does like being a good teammate, always encouraging guys, giving it his all everytime on the court, and of course, most importantly, his towel waving.
this trade is trash for the Clippers. I do not think that james Posey is anywhere near the caliber that maggette is. Walker, well hes not even worth taking a look at. hes way past his prime and his shot selection is just horrible.Personally as a Clippers fan, I detest the thought of even making this trade.
