That performance tonight was pathetic given the circumstances

Fucking get rid of this guy for crying out load. He's been overrated his entire career and now he's substantially overpaid to go with it.

I can't agree enough with this. Another 15 points out of him which I dont think is too much to ask, they are right in the thick of things.

I know this much, something has to be said to him about how goes about his offseasons. He's a far better player than his recent numbers depict. And I think it has everything to do with boneheaded idea of playing basketball year around.

Sorry I'm late to the thread. Obviously I'm not the only one who's noticed. Why is Batum sucking? For God's Sake: he's the only Frenchman I've ever loved!

Hey remember when I suggested Batum for Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson 2 years ago. Or when Portland was rumored to be considering Noah and Butler for Aldridge. How nice would it be to have Butler aka Paul George 2.0 instead of Batum? Maybe Chicago goes cheap and we can add him this summer.

Old man version of Turkoglu with a bad 3pt shot. Batum has to rank as one of the most over paid players in the nba.

Man, normally I am patient with Batum, but holy cow, last nights line was atrocious. Where the fuck was he!

I will admit this was a game where we needed Batum to be aggressive. He should have constantly looked to score when our 1st option was down.

Lillard was swarmed and he needed just one other player besides Matthews to pass to. Houston focused on Lillard, then anticipated passes to Matthews.

Chicago wouldn't have done it back then either. They really loved Butler back then as much as they do now. No chance of that ever happening!

This is like saying "remember when I said we should have traded Batum for Horford?"

'He is who we thought he was'.

That paraphrased quote seems to fit Nic. All the talent in the world but for 7 seasons now, that talent shows up far to infrequently. At least before this season, ONCE IN A WHILE, he would have an explosion game where he would go off for 20+ points, big rebounds and multiple assists.

This year his high in points is 16 and that was against a decimated Thunder squad in the first game of the season. Since then, he has scored over 12 points a grand total of 2 times and over 10 points only 5 times. The apologist homer media can make excuses all day long. That isn't a lack of ability, it is a lack of aggression and focus. It is the lowest he has averaged since his rookie season.

His assists are the same as last season but his rebounding is down 30% and his shooting is at a career low. Half of his attempts are '3's which takes away from how good of a finisher he can be....when he wants to.

Sadly, this isn't anything completely new. His averages over the last three seasons weren't bad at all but the consistency level was quite poor. Games of 7 points offset by games of 19 came out to a 13/14 point average. This year he is having the poor games and not the good ones.

Last year he had 25 games of single digit points. He made up for that with 10 games of 20 points or more. This year, he hasn't come close to 20 points one time and with the ability to step up for a depleted squad last night, he took his customary nap.

Yes, he has a sore wrist and knee but that didn't keep him from at least slightly showing up against the Pelicans for 11/3/5.

Guess he just didn't feel like showing up....again.

Well Batum is out tonight, so we can see another game without Batum on the team. Would it still be a coincidence if we win?

I don't know, Nic just fell 10 ft on his face a few games ago and now has a minor knee contusion and sore wrist..now he's also full of pitchforks and covered in torch burns. That'll build confidence. If anything is jinxing Nico's shot, it's this thread

Batum plays better when he gets pissed off. I'm sure he would be pissed off of someone sent this thread for him to read. Anyone have his email address?

That's what I love about "if" statements. Yeah, Nic is in a slump. Never said he wasn't. I also said if I were Stotts I'd experiment with bringing Nico off the bench as a 6 man to get him involved in the offense. I like Nic
