Figured he was on thin ice, but didn't see it happening this soon. Tells me Lou is reaching for anything he can, and quite frankly is delusional if he thinks that team has talent. Jagr and Gomez are on the 1st line...says it all...NO TALENT.

Good. DeBoer is a very good coach saddled with a washed up GM. If another team that currently stinks has a brain, they would hire him immediately. Edmonton. Canes. Arizona. Etc....

Agreed. I like DeBoer a lot. That team is awful...has no talent. Lou is a washed up hack and it is actually comical that he fires DeBoer because it shows he thinks the team is underperforming, which is comical...NO TALENT LOU.

It is amazing DeBoer got that team to the SCF a few years back. And that they were even somewhat close to the playoffs last season, and would have made it if they won even 40% of their shootouts. Comical stuff from Lou...LOST.

He will do anything to get a victory over NY Rangers.....

Why wait til Sat AM to name a new head coach? Because he can.
He always has this need to be dramatic. His act is old.

Who do you think he hires....Johnny Mac? Himself?

The roster is complete garbage and Lou gets to blame another coach.

He's probably still so f'n stupid he thinks Lou is a great GM instead of a the brainless twit he has been for about the last 8 years.

The best part is that I told those moron Devils fans on ESPN for 3 years that Lou had turned into an imbecile, they drafted like crap for the past 8 years and they were headed for a decade of dark times. Not one of those arrogant tools admitted it. I'm laughing at those idiots now.

Lou was great. He won 3 cups. He played the system perfectly in a lot of ways. BUT the game has passed him by now no doubt. His hard-ball ways don't work anymore. No one wants to play for him or in NJ. He plays games with his players and now they walk. He has to WAY overpay to get guys to play in NJ (see Zajac and Clowe).

In the NHL today you actually need offensive talent to win, and Lou hasn't grasped that yet. It is time for him to retire, or at least move upstairs and let someone else run the team day to day...issue is he won't do it. Too much "pride" to go out like this. So Devil fans suffer now as Gomez and Jagr play on their 1st line.

DeBoer has been a good solid head coach there, that is why I think this is funny. Just shows how truly out of touch Lou is...sad.
