Plan for Circumnavigation under the Great Capes proceeding on schedule. The MarAzul website has been updated with a new page, https://sites.google.com/site/marazulles/home/marazul-under-5-great-capes This page has a brief discription of the task and the goal. Also file attachments that can be down loaded and then opened in Google Earth to show the track planned for the voyage. down load and save the attached files where you can access it. Open Google Earth File Open the the .kmz file one at a time 1 - 13 or Open the Kmz file MarAzul under the great Cape Doing them one at a time will move the globe around with each segment of the voyage. Doing the MarAzul file load the whole smash into temp and the world spins to the prime meridian because the track is completely around the world.
I loaded all of that, very very cool. You need to throw in a couple more stops. Galapagos and Cabo. You also need to set up a couple of Go Pros on the boat.
This is a non stop singlehanded unassisted test against time. The time to beat is 78 day 2 hrs. Can't do any stops and meet requirements. Cameras? I agree. Perhaps someone would like to provide a Spinnaker with their logon on. We could train a cam on that beauty through the wild and woolly.
Just a comment about Google. I am using google email, google earth, and a google hosted website. I sure would have thought there would be a way to open files in google (earth) that exist on one of their other sites, such as the attachments in my MarAzul site they host. Damn, it doesn't look like it??? Perhaps they need a sharp young system savy guy.
Yes. There is one other record involved here too. The age of the skipper completing the run. I sort of think having the fastest time and the oldest skipper to complete the run, together would be rather cool.
Sounds absolutely amazing MarAzul. You may even become more famous than Travis Outlaw after you break the record. Bon voyage!
Site updated with detail route data. Google Earth data and Comments updated Install the one file off the MarAzul site and take a look. https://sites.google.com/site/marazulles/home/marazul-under-5-great-capes
You'll miss most Blazers games before the Allstar break. I imagine weather has something to do with the scheduling?
Just a board joke from a couple years ago We were debating weather KingSpeed was more famous than Travis Outlaw.
