Kuroda was a good (MLB) pitcher, he pitched well for the Yanks- good tough pitcher. Two things stand out in my mind about him - aside from his usual effectiveness. 1) His "reply" in a game he pitched, after Felix Hernandez drilled a couple of Yanks (in the same game) a couple years ago including Jeter getting one right in the back. And we all know about the recent history of Yankee pitchers' timidity when it comes to payback time after Yankee batters get hit by opposing pitchers. I believe he (Kuroda) nailed Seattle's Bloomquist in the back with a fastball forcing him to take a knee at home plate. 2) His fine performance vs Detroit in the playoffs couple years ago on three days rest (and not being a young pitcher) for the first time after never doing so previously in his career. Hiroki Kuroda can pitch on my team any day.
