<div align="center"></div> Yup, I said it: start appreciating Brian Scalabrine! You can make all the jokes you want (I do as well), you can say he has little basketball talent (very true), and you can say that Powe is better (better player, true). But Scalabrine's hustle is underrated, and I am learning to appreciate it. Just think, tonight for example: And Doc said this, the ONLY player on our team that was playing well on Chris Bosh and disrupting his shots/not giving him easy looks was Scal. He really was the only one who played him well. This isn't just a fluke either, he did it last year in Boston when Minnesota came to town against Kevin Garnett, and other times he has come through with big plays (another example: early last year @ Atlanta). He makes big hustle plays. Can he shoot particularly well? Can he rebound well? Can he dribble well? Is he a top notch athlete? No, he is not a raw basketball talent. But he has so much heart and hustle, it means more than you think. Is he overpaid? Yes. Does he have bigger breasts than my last girlfriend? Yes. But this season, I have absolutely LOVED what he has brought to the table. Scal gets so much bashing and gets made fun of so much, but with his play thus far this season he deserves an appreciation thread.
he has been doing a lot better lately, but I still don't like him. But I'm sure that if he was getting a minimum contract rather than a 5 year 15 million dollar contract, he would get alot less hate.
Did he have bigger boobs than my last girlfriend...? YesMan that is classic! But, he hasnt been doing that bad this season compared to last year. To me though, on offense, he is just non existent. He doesn't really mess up, but he doesn't contribute either. He hustles on defense and that is really all you can ask for considering he is an undersized, unathletic, chubby red haired player. Overall, he isnt doing half bad for all of the critisizm that he recieves.
I still hate his guts, but I will say that he has been playing excellent hustle basketball and has been knocking down some threes, which is his game. KEEP IT UP BRIAN!
I make fun of him just as much as the next person and I do have to say he does show heart. You can tell he's a team guy, he's always a cheerleader on the bench and he's got the man boobs to prove it. I appreciate the concept of Brian Scalabrine but I don't appreciate Danny shelling out $12 MIL to have some guy wave a towel and have the occasional hustle and taking a charge.

But yes he was definitely overpaid, no doubt in my mind. But is that really Scal's fault? No. I'm not going to hold any grudges towards him over his contract. It's not like you can bash Scal for his contract like you could have with Blount. Blount got the big deal, then he stopped working/huslting/caring. Scal tries and works real hard. Besides, it's not like his contract hurts us really at all financially, Blount's did.
so he is pretty much mark madsen? I really do not like players like this! I dont know how they stay in the NBA, it just gets me mad

They can't shoot, not great rebounders, aren't Steve Nash playmakers, they aren't defensive gods, sure. But kinda funny how coaches keep these players on the floor, huh? They do all the little things that your team really needs, that might not show up on the stat sheet. Intangibles are key. Also, how can you not like Mark Madsen? He's an absolute psyco, he gets the job done, he is a banger, he always gives 200%. I would rather have one of these intangibles guys than have a talented player with no heart or someone that really doesn't even care (Mark Blount, Eddie Griffin, Adonal Foyle, etc).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Noah @ Dec 3 2006, 06:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'> He stole Danny's old number! </div> Yeah, apparently Ainge only gives #44 to white players (Scal, Jiri). Oh well.

We don't have any expectations for Scalabrine, everyone know he sucks. He sucked on New Jersey. What has he done to help this team? Blount at least had an occasional good game. A good game for Scalabrine is 5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 fouls, taking a charge, and hustling. Blount atleast could have a double-double. When Scal was signed for the contract were all like What the F*ck? Whenever he's on the court we still go what the F*ck? So although I appreciate his hustle and desire it still doesn't take the fact away that he sucks. If he got traded today I'd be dancing in the streets.
He had just played very well in the playoffs for the Nets so at the time 3 mil didn't seem that huge, but I didn't expect anything from him to begin with so I just pretty much ignore the fact that he is on the team most of the time. I don't hate him as much as some of you guys though.
