Long Range Shooting: Ray Allen - Wether or not he's open, it's going inMid-Range Game: Rip Hamilton - Nobody shoots the jumper like himPenetrating: Dwayne Wade - He will make the shot, or get the foulBest Shooting Big Man: - Dirk Notwitzky - I thought about Lamar Odom, but did you really think it would be anyone else?Overall Scorer: Kobe Bryant - Can't stand him, but he can scoreLow-Post Offense: Jermaine O'neal - I would've said Dirk, but he takes too many 3s, JO has all the moves to scoreLow-Post Defense: Tim Duncan - The guy is just smartPerimeter Defense: Ron Artest - 2.8 spg (wow!)Shot Blocking: Jermaine O'neal (3.10 per)Rebounding: Dwight Howard - A bigger beast than KGBest Rebounding Guard: Jason Kidd - 6'4" and leads the team in rebounds (come on Nenand!)Playmaking: Steve Nash - You're going to score when he has the ballFree Throw Shooting: Steve Nash - ObviouslyClutch Shooting: Chauncey Billups - Carmelo is close thoughBallhandling: Steve Nash - He always knows where the ball isBest Ballhandling Big Man: Kevin Garnett - Odom is good, but not as goodSpeed: Allen Iverson - Over 30 years old and still the fastest in the leagueBest Physcial Fitness: Dwayne Wade - Dude's played so many games, fallen down so many times, and he's still one of the most fit players in the leagueDunking: Josh Smith - Carter has toned downBest Player: Steve Nash - 2 MVPs

Long Range Shooting: Ray Allen Best shooting form in the league in my opinion.Mid-Range Game: Rip HamiltonPenetrating: Dwyane Wade James is unstoppable going to the hoop, but Wade can dribble better while doing it, which makes him win in this catagory.Best Shooting Big Man: Dirk Nowitzki Is there another answer?Overall Scorer: Kobe BryantLow-Post Offense: Tim Duncan Ming is slowly but surely creeping up on this award.Low-Post Defense: Ben WallacePerimeter Defense: Bruce Bowen Great reach stepping ability.Shot Blocking: Zo and Camby Why? They have been doing it longer and more consistantly than other players (like Okafor, this is his first year averageing over 2 blocks a game. I just think these two have the better natural born instincts for it. But pretty soon, their age will take over and Okafor's expierence will catch up and he will be on my top list, just not right now this very second. ZoRebounding: Dwight HowardBest Rebounding Guard: Jason Kidd How can he not be here?Playmaking: Steve NashFree Throw Shooting: Steve NashClutch Shooting: Kobe BryantBallhandling: Allen IversonBest Ballhandling Big Man: Lamar OdomSpeed: Allen IversonBest Physcial Fitness: Zo You guys might be thinking, WTF? But all through is career he has been in top physcial condition and after the surgery and all and he might have not been able to play pro-basketball again, just take a look at a picture of him. Sure he can't play as long as he used to, but he is getting older. That is another thing, how many players are going to be as fit as him at his age? That is why I have him here. He isn't the fittest guy in the league, but I think he has more determination and drive when it comes to his body.Dunking: Vince Carter He isn't affraid to try some huge in game dunks that might result in a miss.Best Player: Kobe Bryant

Besides, he has missed many clutch free throws. And he is in very good shape, and he doesn't sit out often at all, but neither does Antoine Walker. Is he in the best shape too? Ehh.. Pierce is just a warrior. Will and physical fitness are two different things. Rip Hamilton can run for days, he runs everybody raggid. Pierce actually is somewhat slow when running with the ball (ok not slow, but not fast).

Wow is everyone copy and pasting here? How is Ray Allen ahead of Michael Redd in shooting 3's? I dont careI had to make at least 2 homer picks and those were the 2 I felt best fit Piercehes missed some clutch free throws but hes definitely made a lot more clutch free throws..the only ones I can remember were the ones against the Nets a few years ago that he missed..but if Antoine hadn't thrown up all those bricks the prssure wouldn't have been on him to make those free throwsI still think hes the fittest in the league..fittest doesn't neccisarily have to mean in the best shape..it can be the literal scientific definition..the ability to survive..which Pierce has done through everything [IMG]

You can make a good case for Redd being better at shooting (and this year for sure), and if you pick him, I don't exactly disagree with the pick. But you can't say a player is better just because of what he is doing in 16 games vs. a whole career, although Redd has been great so far this season. Allen shot better than Redd last season, and that was a whole season.

Ray Allen's 3 point shooting has gone down a little bit each year. He hasn't been a top notch 3 point shooter since 2001.

He also shot .412% from three point range while scoring 25 PPG. How isn't he a top notch 3 point shooter any more? I don't think that is dropping very far. Sure he shot the ball 43% in 2001, but that is hard to do for a whole season, it was his career best, you can't expect him to shoot like that every season. His points per game have increased since that year as well. I don't see how he isn't a top notch shooter any more just because he isn't shooting as good as he did in his career year (but he is scoring more points). His career shooting percentage year (2001) he shoots 43%. Then after that, in seasons to come, it drops, goes back up, drops goes, back up. And then he has his third best three point percentage in his career last season and he is getting worse?

Yeah it is close between Redd and Allen but Redd is on his way up while Ray Allen is slowly declining despite having a great year last year.

But you can't base the "Best player in a catagory" off of potential or years to come. Other wise I would have LeBron James as my best player. I mean, I see where you are coming from, but I don't really agree with the reasoning.

Dwight Howard is not the best shotblocker in basketball...He's averaging 2 a game and is not nearly as good as Andrei Kirilenko at blocking shots. Ben Wallace is the most overrared defender in basketball right now and everyone here seems to think he's the best...when in fact Rasheed Wallace is the better defender. :no1:
