Yeah, exactly. Lol, it's quite funny how similar we are judging by the Christmas thread, and now this thread when it comes to getting out of the holiday spirit/gaming interest. But yeah, I hear you, I got an HDTV back in September, but it has a really small dead pixel you can't even notice at all when playing games in the corner of the screen. It bothered me for a while, but now it really doesn't. I don't really plan on getting a PS3 for a while just because the 360 has me keyed in on it.I just don't understand why everyone is up on the next-gen graphics -- no, I mean, they're great, but what I don't understand is how come there's not that much talk about next-gen gameplay as much as there is for next-gen graphics? I'll take gameplay over graphics any day, and would love these game producers/developers to put as much time into gameplay as they do with the graphics, or balance it out, and it would make for better, more un-bugged games.
Yeah lol, how old are you? Maybe it's an age thing. I have a dead pixel on my monitor, pretty damn annoying when I'm doing photoshop work, but other than that I barely notice it. We have an HD TV in my house, but it's not in my room and therefore I never watch it, so I really have no need for a PS3. We also have a 360 which I'm thoroughly unimpressed with.I agree with you on the graphics. If you look at the difference in graphics between the PS1 and PS2 then I can fully understand why people were making such a big deal out of the graphics, it's a huge difference and it makes the gameplay experience entirely different. I don't think the same can be said about the margin between the last generation of systems and this one though, graphics really can't get all that much better after this. Pretty soon the digital artists are going to be the limiting factors on how realistic games look, not the actual technology. I think it's great that Nintendo did something innovative with the Wii, and I'm happy for them that it's selling well. I haven't had a chance to play with it, but it seems pretty cool, at least it's something different. I don't necessarily think that it was the best idea to totally neglect improving the graphics, but at the same time this move did allow them to make the system very affordable. Hopefully the next generation of consoles will have great graphics and utilize some innovative gameplay features and user interface devices.
Definitely. I'm 15, and have been getting uninterested in gaming for the past year or so, ever since probably July or August 2005. It's just gotten old to me -- all of the games is just wearing me down to not want to play anymore after they get so repetitive, but I do play sports games on a regular basis if I feel like popping anything in and playing. So I doubt I'll ever get 100% out of gaming, because when a certain sport gets to it's offseason, it drives me insane of missing it so bad, I have to pop in the certain game and play through a franchise until the next season in reality.And definitely, the Wii looks like it would be a fun system. Alot of people have said it was just a prop system, but I say that there's just a few bugs with it that need to be fixed and will be fixed in the feature. It's a great deal at $200 I think. It's alot better than $600 and $400 none the less. Someone I know from school got one and they were saying how it was pretty fun, and the remote hasn't even slipped out of their hands yet.That's the only thing I'd be worried about: playing so much that your hands get sweaty, then losing grip of the remote. I heard they were making a recall on the Wii consoles or something to add some grip to the remote.
Yeah I don't think I'll ever fully get out of gaming either, I still like playing sports, racing, and some FPS and action games, but I don't play nearly as much as I used to, I play in spurts for a week or so and then don't touch my system again for 6 weeks. Nintendo did order a recall on the Wii remote wrist straps, the new one is a lot more solid, so you can't smash your TV with them anymore lol. I want to try one out, I can see that as being the only next-gen system I'll buy for now, just because it sounds like fun, and it's very affordable.
Definitely. It would be really crazy to see if they could really implement some wild moves for sports games. Say like an NFL/College football game, throwing the ball you would bullet by moving the remote quickly, to lob you would loft it. Of course, that probably wouldn't work out, and alot of things would be going around with the game, but the thought of it's fun. No idea how it'd work for basketball. First person basketball anyone? Arch of the shot? Lol. Nah, I doubt that too; there'd be no way they could do that. Baseball, tennis, and (possibly) hockey are the sports games that will definitely work out for this system for the motion effects of the swinging, etc. I say the FPS's for it are fun as well. Many people have said the COD3 for the Wii is pretty good.
Haha I was making fun of my friends because of that....they think that the Wii is like a virtual console, like if you wanted to do a between-the-legs dunk, you would have to jump and pass the wiimote between your legs. It would be amazing tho if that existed.
That would be awesome, it would definitely make sports games a lot more fun and unique, I'd love to see some stuff like that implemented in the future. You planning on getting a Wii?
I may get a Wii, but next year. I already used up this Christmas for my Zune and don't have money for the Wii. One of my neighbor has it and he says it's amazing so he's slowly convincing me to buy it. I'll definitely think about it when I have the money.
