Although I'm not sure you can speak of any real rivalries going on which isn't made up by the media, there are always some teams in the NBA which I really want to see get beat up by the Nets. Sometimes, I'm not even sure why. Of course I want the Nets to win everytime, but especially against:-BostonA couple of years ago, I think you can say there actually was a rivalry going on. Pierce and 'Toine vs Kidd, Kenyon and the rest. Kittles shooting threes on them, beating the Celtics in the playoffs.... oh the memories. No matter in what state the Celtics are now, I always want to beat them.-New YorkBecause.... uhm.... I'm a Nets fan?-IndianaOkay, so they've had a couple of un-Pacers-like seasons, but most of the time they are up amongst the East elite (which doesn't say much now, but it was a couple of seasons ago). It won't take long until the Pacers are a good team again. But still, they must not win against the Nets.-MiamiBoston, New York and Indiana are always on top of my list, but Miami has been added since Shaq came to town. They have been THE team to beat the last couple of seasons. That's why it's even more frustrating that we can't win against them this season, because Miami just isn't a really good team. It will happen though. So what are your teams you're always hyped for when the Nets play them? And why?
Man, the Celtics/Nets of the early 2000's was great, especially in 2002 (Eastern Conference Finals). Damn, I miss those days so much. Toine and K-Mart wanted to murder each other every night, which was great because they both talked trash and made it interesting. All the fans in the Fleet Center calling Kidd a wife beater. Game 3 when you guys were up by 21 at the end of the 3rd quarter (in our own building too), and we came back to win by 4 (led by Pierce's 18 4th quarter points). Man, those were the days. The Celtics were an elite team, and rivalries still existed in the NBA. So, Mr. Stern, what happened to those?
"wiiiife beater..wiiiife beater"I remember it like it was yesterday..I even said it hahahaha I went to like 4 of those playoff games between the nets and c'sit was an interesting little rivalry..but it's calmed down since the celtics suck now..so the games arent as interesting and both teams have sort of fallen apart in terms of who was on the team then and who's on the team now
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one remembering those Nets-Celtics days, but the "wife beater" thing.... okay, Kidd made a huge mistake in his life by doing that, but chanting that while his wife AND kid were in the audience (yes, in Boston), that's harsh man!
us Boston Fans were pretty angry when Pitino did his thing here..we had a lot of anger to vent out lolunfortunately it was on Jason Kidd..it was only during free throws to mess up his concentration..I don't think anybody here meant to personally hurt him or his family..just emntally make him mess up on the free throw
Regardless of the Kidd remarks, it was a good rivalry, right? I try to follow every team in the league, besides my Nets, and Pitino.... what can I say? Sometimes a marriage just doesn't work....You know what the Celtics need? Paul Silas. But I'm not sure what he's doing now............
A certain team I always look out for versus the Nets are the Lakers because VC always does something remarkable versus them. Well, VC always does remarkable things in general, but I'm referring to game-by-game in consecutive games against one team. For instance, VC pulled out that 360 And-One against the Lakers in 04-05. That was insane! Also, Kobe tries his best to stop VC on offense.
Accually I was at all thos Boston-Nets games when we went to the finals, and I really found that totally out of line and just I dont know the word but very disrespectful to Kidd and his family. And yes, Kidd did get offened. Why do you think he was so intense in those games and wanted to beat Boston so much? He didnt want his faimly to go on the roads to see the games because Boston fans were so bad.
yeah and the new jersey fans had a sign that said "Somebody please stab Paul Pierce"that's just as out of line

You guys, also take note that Boston's fans are complete assholes in general. You have your nice couple or family on the right, and then a group on the left screaming every cuss word in the book directed towards every player and coach on the floor (yes, Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots included).
