Reality Fighting 52 takes place tonight (?) at Mohegan Sun and was supposed to be headlined by a super-heavyweight fight between Timmy Sylvia and some guy. Unfortunately for Sylvia he was not cleared medically to fight. Whether or not this had to do with him tipping the scales at a whopping 371-lbs., nearly 100-lbs. more than his One FC weight in 2012, his manager Monte Cox is unsure. Sylvia said he had $2,000 worth of expenses for medical testing and pre-fight screening that he can no longer recoup. The Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation insisted that Sylvia take extra tests due to his age (38). When you aren't cleared medically to fight on a reserve there must be something pretty wrong with you.

Turns out the pre-fight MRI is the reason Sylvia wasn't cleared to fight and not his weight.

The staff neurologist (??!!) for The Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation said that Sylvia passed his stress test but wanted further evaluation after seeing his MRI results.

Timmay is the Rodney Dangerfield of UFC Champions.

    - 2-time UFC Heavyweight Champion, three successful title defenses
    - 7 knockouts in the UFC, 20 overall plus 4 submissions
    - 77% finishing rate in his career, overall record of 31-10-1 (.738)
    - wanted to keep fighting after Frank Mir broke his arm

Tim overcame a lot in his career. He was unwanted by MFS. Matt Hughes dismissed him and told him he wouldn't be his friend. Jens Pulver teased him to tears. The team ditched him when he tried to tag along. He proved everybody wrong by climbing the mountain (twice) and having a good career.

He did have a lot of low points, though. He tested positive for Stanozolol and was stripped after defeating Gan McGee. He later claimed he juiced to try and get six-pack abs and look the part. He pooped himself during the Tre Telligman fight, IIRC. His third fight with Andrei Arlovski was horrendous, as was his wall-and-stall fight with Brandon Vera. Randy Couture made him look silly. Big Nog submitted him with ease. He got blasted out by Fedor Emelianenko and then embarrassed in 9-seconds by Ray Mercer. For the last five years of his career he had middling success against low level fighters, was knocked out in a fourth fight with Arlovski, and lost his last three bouts.

Some strangeness surrounding his age. Mohegan Sun claimed he needed extra testing because he's over 40 but Wiki and the UFC think he's 38?

Presumably he has brain damage. Not sure what else the neurologist would've been concerned about?
