Who on your team is your effort player? Someone that doesn't put up a lot of stats but does a lot of the little things that helps your team win. For Dallas I would have to go with Diop. He gets underrated because he doesn't score a lot or put up huge rebound numbers but his hustle is tremendous for a big guy. If you don't have any or it was already mentioned than add someone off another team.
Glad to see your making some good topics lately Mavs (I've been slacking). Most of the players on the Bucks don't fit an 'effort' player description and thats why were such a terrible team. Dan Gadzuric shows a lot of effort but he's so damned stupid half the time it's unwatchable. Steve Blake would be my vote for the Bucks. He puts forth a lot of effort on defense and even though he's a terrible athlete he gets by with clever play.
Eduardo Najera- He's one of the best garbage players in the entire league, I love his activity on the offensive glass. Last night he grabbed 11 rebounds, 8 of those rebounds were offensive. All but 1 of his points came from him being active on the boards, I love his hustle out there.Reggie Evans- He's one of the best rebounders in the league and he only plays 20 minutes per game, I love his hustle when he's in the game. He's averaging 9 rebounds per game off the bench for Denver. I think he would average 12+ boards if he was inserted into the starting line-up. He's also one of the best offensive rebounders in the NBA at around 4 per game. I love the guy.

I wish the Bucks had one guy that played with half of Najera's smarts and heart...
For the Sixers it is definitely Shavlik Randolph. He only puts up 4 points and 4 rebounds a game, but when he's in there he's always drawing charges, diving for loose balls, keeping the rebounds alive, battling, and just hustling in general. Also, Andre Iguodala doesn't put up spectacular scoring numbers, but he is just an all-around good player for us. He fills up the stat sheet...
Nice topics mavsfan. For Boston, it's definitely Brian Scalabrine. He really doesn't have any skills whatsoever (except he can hit the occasional open jumper, and he's a solid passer for a big), but he hustles SO MUCH. His low post defense actually isn't bad at all, he doesn't grab the rebounds but he definitely boxes out (which is rare nowadays for any rebounders. They all just jump 6 feet in the air to get them), he runs hard even though he's out of shape, he dives on the floor, saves balls from going out of bounds, etc. You have to respect the intangibles.I love players like this, by the way. I don't like Scal as much as I like others because of the fact he has little basketball skill, but I'm coming around to like him. Guys like Chuck Hayes, Eduardo Najera, Reggie Evans, Shavlik Randolph, Lindsey Hunter, Anderson Varajoe, David Lee, Jeff Foster, Tony Battie, Adrian Griffin, Anthony Johnson, etc. I love those type of players, they get so little credit but they contribute in SO many ways. F*ck a stat sheet.

There is this one game that sticks out in my mind so vividly. It was a game agains the Rockets. Yao was dominating that 1st half against I believe Shawn Bradley(kind of hard to believe, huh?!) and Nellie put Najera in the 2nd half to gaurd Yao and he just frustrated while he was gaurding. I know that would be hard being a 6-8 guy gaurding a 7-5 montster. He just kept moving around in the post on him. It was great.Anyways, on the topic. One guy that might not come right since we are trying to think of guy who doesn't put up a ton of numbers, but I think Allen Iverson has give out the most effort on the 76ers squad. Bruce Bowen does a lot for his team just on sheer effort as well. It takes a ton of effort to play great defense. He'd do just about anything to help his team win.
definately mark madsen, the guy has no offensive skill whatsoever but he makes up for it with his hustle defense. he is a madman though, takes like a million charges a game.
Well it would be Bonzi but I havn't seen him play that much. So for me, It's gotta goto Chuck Hayes. This guy hustles every single game. Plays with a lot of heart and loves to rack them boards.I mean c'mon man, Undrafted to a Starter. He earned that...

Chuck Hayes does all the dirty work, he's the size of the average SF/SG and he's a banger. Battier does absolutely everything well, period, is tough, can play/guard 3 positions. How you even consider Bonzi over either of these guys, I don't know.

Kurt Thomas, talked about him in my blog. And even though he is putting up some numbers now I say Raja Bell. He tries harder than anyone and is the emotional leader, as the play-by-play guys like to say, of the team.
Dahntey Jones-He comes to play everynight and hes a excellent defender. He never slacks and...well, he puts in tons of effort.
Marcus Banks, He's always giving 100% when he's on the floor . Andrew Bogut - worked hard in the offseason and does all the little things on court which end up helping his team.Rip Hamilton, always does his best .Allen Iverson - goes all out everygame and gives his all.
For the Jazz its Andrei Kirilenko and Paul Milsap, though they both get good stats. AK does everything, and Milsap is pretty much doing the same thing.another guy who seldom gets credit for anything is Jarron Collins, he is one of the few players I've ever seen who does a consistant nice job guarding Tim Duncan.

He only plays defense half the time and is very inconsistant, if he worked on anything this offseason I'd like to know what it is.
Jeff Foster - 48 minute productivity: 18rpg. Last night guess how many rebounds he had? 18. 12 of them were on offense. He never stops running or diving for balls or taking charges. Dude is amazing.
hmmm...for the Raptors, I would say it's Joey Graham, PJ Tucker, or Garbajosa.PJ is probably the biggest hustler, but he has hardly played this year. Joey Grham goes after loose balls, drives with the ball whenever possible, and is really good at getting garbage points. Garbajosa is actually a very good stealer, and he goes after loose balls, passes, rebounds, plays ok defense. He is a good all around player. The Raptors dont really have a clear cut hustler though..
