    Christ was all about acceptance and forgiveness. Their rhetoric is so full of hate and judgment. They corrupt the teachings of Christ and then have the nerve to call themselves Christians. I'm not a religious person, but it is fools like this that make me want to believe there is a Hell.

    Jesus did supposedly say some (unoriginal) stuff that corresponds with our modern moral sensibilities, but he (and the Bible in general) was/is also apocalyptically judgmental of unrepentant sinners, and the Bible makes it clear that the word should be spread. So I don't particularly buy the argument that the teachings of Christ are being corrupted here. You really have to read pretty selectively to turn Jesus into the moral genius he is often made out to be.

    not really, throughout the gospels Christ constantly challenges pharisees, the religious leaders of the time, and calls them out on their hypocritical bullshit, then he goes out of his way to treat people who have been looked over and tossed aside with respect and kindness, knowing it will entice the pharisees to even more hypocrisy. That anti religious attitude is what got him killed.

    it is because of these teachings that i am a christian who does not attend church. the modern american church may look appealing on the outside but when you start crunching numbers and looking underneath the rug you find a whole shit load of dirt. from song services designed to stir emotions before the offering to preachers twisting scripture to meet an agenda, it's all a bunch of bullshit. there are very few exceptions out there, so few im not even motivated to try and find one.

    WBC is on the extreme end of that. they've cherry picked scripture out of context to feed a hitler esque machine of hate, the leaders will most certainly be in hell, with lots of anal penetration.
