so I was just listening to th grantland Jalen and Jacoby podcast where the two of them plus Simmons are discussing bball. First brought up by Jacoby at the 1h 15m mark they start talking finals picks. Jalen goes with Spurs/Bulls and then Jacoby said "and this is with my heart, not so much my head cause I love this team this year, Portland Trailblazers." And Bulls. Then they move into a talk about Lillard. Jalen says "Damian Lillard deserves to be a allstar in the tough western conference". Bill Simmons " Damian Lillard, Steph Curry with worse PR". Then they says they have had more curry conversations that perhaps they should have, and not enough Lillard conversations. Then Jalen says that when we talk about athletic PG's, people talk about Wesbrook and Rose, but two athletic PG's who get overlooked are Wall and Lillard. (About Lillard) "normally the guys who dribble behind their backs and make 30 foot threes, can't go to the basket and jam with two hands" said Jalen. Then the conversation pivots to Wall.
Simmons I'm not sure, but it seems obvious from what Javoby and Jalen said that they have been watching.
Curry is having an amazing season this year. He's among the top 3-5 in numerous statistical categories, offense and defense and the advanced stats, too. It doesn't hurt that his team is 27-5, either. It's not like he hasn't earned his accolades, IMO.
I thought it was a typo. I thought the tread title was supposed to be: Lillard - Curry with Worse PER. Curry is 3rd in the league with PER = 26.9. Lillard is 10th at PER = 23.4. BNM
Lillard really needs to work on his floater or something - He's only 24.5% from 3-10 feet, otherwise PER would be closer.
That's on his schedule for this summer... he can't get too good too fast or we'll be onto him... (pssst: I'm not saying he's an alien... but he's an alien)
Lillard has played 3 more games than Curry, and they're tied in WS on the season. Lillard .237 WS/48 while Curry averages .281 WS/48. Curry is a little better at everything, and does so in fewer minutes per game. And he certainly has better PR, though Lillard has done fine for himself.
Coming in here and stomping on our parade with facts. How dare you! these two are going to be the next Reggie and Ray Allen. Sure one is better then the other but you wouldn't care who you had on your team as long as you had one of them.
