Right now for me it would be Kevin Martin, Hes playing such great ball in Sacramento, and is performing well, whether its the coach or the system, Martin would fit in most rotations.
Well Shane Battier is probably the best role player from what I read on the last thread about this but I'm a huge fan of 2 of the role players the Suns have right now. Kurt Thomas and Raja Bell. Especially Kurt lately. He always works hard, he's good on defense and he is really helping out Amare. Both he and Raja are hard workers and they are a big part of the success this team has had.
I really love Bruce Bowen as a role player. On offense, he has a great 3 point shot and he is developing it from more spots on the floor than just the corners. He is obviously an excellent perimeter defender, and the best in the game IMO. He is a smart player who brings it every night also. Another player I would love to have is Ryan Gomes. He has a great mid range game, he is an excellent offensive rebounder, he hustles like a mad man, he goes after loose balls, and he is a good defender for his size at his position. You have to love Ryan Gomes as a player...
I would choose someone like Desmond Mason. I think his style of play would really bring that show time feel back to the lakers. I can just imagine Kobe lobbying an alley opp to Demond.
Ben Wallace gets more and more overrated to me... there are a ton of guys who haven't made the Hall of Fame who deserve it before Ben "Bad Contract" Wallace should get in...I'd say Udonis Haslem. He gets ignored a lot, but his defense and rebounding are key for the Heat. He's also got a really underrated scoring game.

I think that if he was on a different team, he would put be putting up close to 19 and 8 a night. He has so many different qualities in him that make him a good player. He is a good defender, a good scorer from inside and out, and he is a good rebounder. I think since he plays in Detroit, he gets overlooked because their are 3 other guys on the floor with a similar skill level than him. But I definitely wouldnt call him a "role player".
definitely shane battier. I've followed him since his duke days and I love the guy. he will do everything you need him to do. he'll hit the open jumper, he'll guard the other teams best player almost every night, he'll rebound, he'll dive on the floor, he'll hit his free throws, he'll make smart plays, basically everything. he is hands down the best role player in the nba.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Chuck Hayes SON</div>*cough* Shane Battier *cough*It's not only the skill and the effort he brings, it's the undefinable intangibles he has. I remember reading a recent Jon Barry article on ESPN (who, by the way, played with T-Mac and Yao up till only last year), and he said that Yao and T-Mac weren't natural team leaders, and Shane Battier was the one who would fill that role. I think he's right.

The Nets already have slashers, and high flyers that can get up and down court in Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter. Getting him would just give you guys the same thing as those two. I think you guys need a shooter, like Michael Finley or Kyle Korver.
