then it sounds like something went wrong with the samples or the testing for both to have such abnormally low levels.
As it turns out DC's levels were pretty normal. He had about 60 ng/mL of test in his system which is about the average for men. JJ had 0.59 ng/mL in his system, meaning JJ has like 98% less testosterone than DC. Yeah, makes total sense.
I thought it was stated somewhere that the ratio was supposed to be 1:1. Guess I misread that bit of info.
1:1 is a typical testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio and when we hear about guys getting popped for elevated testosterone levels we usually see elevated ratios reported. The NSAC/VADA doesn't necessarily look at E:T ratios when they are lower than normal as something that is an indicator of PED usage. They can look at the amount of testosterone in the sample but urine samples aren't the best for analyzing testosterone and can't really be used to detect synthetics. In this case the actual amount of testosterone detected in JJ's samples vs. DC's were abnormal. DC's ratio was low but the actual amount of test in his sample was normal. JJ's ratio was low and the amount of test in his samples were also extremely low. I don't believe JJ's bloodwork has been released and the meathead from the NSAC says his samples are free and clear so that's why this has all died down.
Hardcore fans are aware of JJ's test results and will be suspicious of him (or worse) forever, now. I don't think JJ cares and I don't think his manager has the wherewithal to do anything to clear his name. If they wanted to they could release all of Jon's tests (urine and blood) once the post-fight results come back, have them professionally analyzed, and explain the results. If they were honest and open I bet half the people with doubt would be assuaged.
Listen, this is the MMA forum. We don't use words like "assuaged". If it doesn't involve blood, don't say it!
