When I was younger, I was a total music snob. There were certain bands I absolutely hated, but now absolutely love!

Here are a couple of mine:

    Tool (hated and now love)
I thought they were just a weird technical band that were boring when I was a late teenager. Ironically, my 16 year old daughter loves them. So anyway, she sat down with me and asked if she could listen to tool (specifically the Lateralus Album). It completely floored me! I absolutely love this band.

Love and Rockets (loved and now hate)
I was a full on homer for anything Love and Rockets, Tones on Tale or Bauhaus. I had rare vinyl and their entire collections when I was an early teen. Since then, I stopped listening to them (about 20 years). I decided to go "all out" and buy all their albums again, pressed play and skipped everything to find just one listenable song. The only song I was able to stomach was "Ball of Confusion", which ironically was a remake of an old soul song. Whatever though....

No band in particular, but my tolerance for really shitty pop music has increased a bit. I think it started when I began watching those "got talent" shows from around the world on youtube. Guilty pleasure I guess.

Ugh I know what you mean. That stupid "shake it off" song by Taylor Swift is one example. I feel ashamed I even like that song.

I've only changed my Mind on music once, and that was when I was young and hated the music my parents listened to. Then I grew up and realized how great it is. There is one type of music I have no respect for and therefor won't listen to, and that is screamo or whatever they call it these days.

I love a good beat, but I'm all about the lyrics. That's what I love so much about hip hop, it's poetry.

I've never been much of a hip hop fan. I do like the underground guys (Pharcyde like groups) a lot, which would apply more towards your "poetry" comment.

I'm more into the underground as well but I like some more mainstream hip hop like a tribe called quest and mos def. I listen to some rap but mainly 90s stuff like EPMD. I don't really care for modern rap like lil Wayne and 2 chainz, but I respect what they do.

I listen to a lot of pandora, and recently have been listening to this tribe called quest station I've been working on getting good stuff together for a while now. Pharcyde pops up on it often. I love pandora because of the blend of music you can create, you might have 1000 people with a Beatles station, but every person probably has a different variety to their station. As a fan of music I couldn't imagine not using pandora!

I used to love Lil Wayne, then I realized he is an ass hat.

I also used to think crooners were lame too, but I kinda like it now lol

Sort of a reverse like and dislike. It was about 60 years ago now that Rock n Roll landed upon us. My favorite was Bill Haley and the Comets.
They had a hit with their first song, Rock Around the Clock. Marvelous stuff at the time, probably because the other music available at the time
    was boring, maybe awful.

Now Bill Haley is really hard to take, maybe awful.

I don't really have any music I liked when I was younger and now dislike.

But I used to hate country music and now I enjoy some of the modern country artists like Luke Bryan, chase rice and Brantley Gilbert

I also couldn't stand country when I was younger and now enjoy some of it. In fact I just went to my first country concert (not a huge star, his name is Josh Thompson) and had a good time.

Some music I used to like and no am so/so on is Blink 182, Korn, and Metallica.

My dentist would have his radio tuned to a station that ALWAYS played the Spin Doctors on my visits. Every time I'd hear this:

    Fffffffucking shit.

Used to like the Sex Pistols, now I find them hard to listen to.

Plus at my age, there's precious few occasions where blasting "God Save the Queen" is appropriate. That's it... I didn't get old, everyone else did!

I've handed down my Sex Pistols and Clash LPs to my 19-year old son. He appreciates me getting old.

Wasn't much of a fan of the Beastie Boys back in the day. Just seemed like whigger wannabe rapper/ganstas. Now, I realize they were actually pretty talented and have a couple of their songs on the playlists I listen to when I work out.
