Chicago Tribune - Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck sent Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune an unsolicited email regarding the future of Paul Pierce in a Boston uniform. "As Celtics managing owner I can tell you, yet again, that we will not be trading Paul. Feel free to use this, or not, but your speculation is incorrect. Regards."http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/435...t_trade_pierce/ why RealGM would post this..there was never any talk of him being traded
Oh my god, people REALLY need to put this old rumor to rest. I thought this was put to bed months ago. He just signed a 3 year extension, leave it alone! The media pisses me off so much, this is such an old rumor it's not even funny. Pierce will not get traded unless he specifically asks to (which I really don't see happening). Put this crap to rest, my god. But continue to expect some random talk about this guys, Pierce trade talk/rumors will go on until/unless we start winning games.
Yeah this rumor may have been relevant last season or something but this year it's just plain stupidity. Pierce has said he knows this team isn't going to be winning a championship right away and he knows there's still a lot of improvements that need to be made. This is retarted.
I think that Paul is eventually going to demand a trade. I hate to say it but a decent amount of these young players arent improving by a whole lot. Perk isnt getting better.....period. When he plays tough defense, he gets in foul trouble. Big Al gets hurt alot and it is delaying his progression in his career. He got in great shape over the summer, but I see NO improvement. From what I have seen out of Delonte, he has gotten ALOT worse...period. His shooting is his strong point and it just isnt that good this year what so ever. TA has gotten worse every year he has been in the league. Worst shooter at the shooting guard position that I have seen in a long time. I think Gerald shows glimpses of greatness but Doc doesn't give him playing time....Same with Rondo. Before tonight, he had played 3 minutes in 3 games. That cant just be because of the flue. Doc blames it on Rondo not being an offensive threat. Bassy is playing well right now and I do think he will improve. THe only player that I can truly say I have seen improvement in is Gomes...
I think Sam Smith jsut really wants pierce on the Bulls. I've read several of his articles suggesting a trade for Pierce.but I honestly do think that Paul COULD go this summer if we are a bottom five team. I wouldn't blame him either. as a player, you can only tolerate losing for so long.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DRob-50-Forever @ Dec 5 2006, 12:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I don't.</div> I do, unless Danny has something up his sleeve... and SOON. Paul Pierce, with this current roster and lack of direction/system, isn't going to win anything in Boston. From the looks of things right now, it would probably be best for Pierce to go somewhere where he could maybe win something, while we get a real young player to build around (and a filler, maybe a pick or two). That would allow us to rebuild with youth, allowing them to actually get playing time and maybe reach their potential, and it would allow Pierce to play for wins (not losses), which he deserves. Either that, or Danny grows a pair of testicles and he takes a risk. He needs to make a move and bring in some help for Paul Pierce. If not, Pierce is really wasting his prime years in this league on a horrible basketball team with an unknown direction/future.
