Carmelo Anthony today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Dec. 3. Redd averaged 35.3 points on .541 shooting in leading the Bucks to a 2-1 week. Third in the NBA in scoring (30.4 ppg), Redd shot .412 from three-point range last week and added 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. His 45-point night at Staples Center on Nov. 28 helped the Bucks to win on the Lakers? home court for the first time since 2000. Anthony led Denver to a 2-1 week, which included wins over Minnesota and Indiana. Scoring 35 or better in all three contests last week, Anthony has now scored over 30 points in 12 of Denver?s 15 games this season. For the week, Anthony averaged 36.7 points along with 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists, while shooting .570 from the field and .500 from three-point range.</div>Redd was amazing as usual with his scoring, and 45 on the Lakers (in LA) was incredible. He definitely deserved it. Melo has been playing out of his mind, he has really impressed me with the improvements he has made to his game (especially defensively). He deserved it as well.
Both deserve it, congrats to both.Redd has been outstanding this whole year so far. He's been scoring alot, while still helping his team.Carmelo has really elevated his game to an al-around level. Very impressive.Congrats!
The NBA finally did something right. They are rewarding the two best players so far, and of this week. Redd has established himself as an elite player and has shown the ability to take over games. Whiel Melo has been improving evrygame, and now looks unstoppable
Man, Carmelo is on a crazy streak as of late. He is playing simply amazing. Isnt this 2 weeks in a row that he has won player of the week for the west? His team is playing great, he is scoring, he is rebounding, and he is defending. You cant ask for much more...
Both are deserving. Both are playing like freaks of nature.Too bad Redd had to score that on the Lakers though.

I don't know what's gotten into Redd this season...Every freaking year he just keeps getting better...after getting a $90 million dollar deal I was not expecting it to continue.

All NBA players want to win and that team isnt going to even have a chance to win if he doesn't play good. He knows that and I think the other players on that team know that as well.
well Redd struggled tonight after the first quarter he only scored 7 points. the entire game he had 18, which really suprised me, because I most nights I could score 30 against whoever the hell the Jazz decide is their shooting guard for the night.
Congrats to both. Redd is amazing. But Carmelo is...wow! 36.7 points on .570 from the field and .500 from beyond the 3 point arc? That is incredible! As of right now, I say Melo for MVP...or MIP...

Before coming into this season, he was playing good basketball. but not GREAT. I mean Melo and James contracts are not that much are they? Aside from the 44 million extensions they got right?

Melo and LeBron both got shorter max-deals.
Melo is playing crazy this year. He's turned into, dare I say, the best scorer in the NBA? If not best, top 5? Probably.
