I don't see him passing himself off as a Blazer insider, but maybe I missed something. Maybe you don't like the way he writes, that's fine, but it doesn't change the integrity of the piece.

And I think the whole point was to generate discussion on why the Blazers are a good 3PT defense team.....which it did in the comments. Even if you hate the way the article is written there's actually a lot of good (civil) discussion in the comments, with many people pointing out reasons that were brought up here as well.

Okay well I guess that's good. Personally, I think the piece was to get hits. And they did well!

Ben Golliver wrote interesting articles and was authentic. One thing I can't stand is media that argues points they don't believe. Dave doesn't even live in Portland and has very little basketball knowledge. I doubt he ever played the game. He has some talent as a writer but his tone often comes across as arrogant to me.

Okay, the guy raises some interesting questions. That said, I just wonder how you write a piece saying that the defense may not be as good as the record shows and not make some mention that it's been achieved without the benefit of our starting center, for the past month, or his backup, for the past two weeks. Lopez and Freeland are our two best rim protectors and teams have been able to get to the hoop much easier with those guys out. The Blazers defense is only going to get better when they return.

All I can say is that it's awfully nice of the other teams to play offense in such a way as to make our defense look better statistically.
