I was thinking about the league expanding, and I was thinking about how alot of teams would still be pretty bad for a while. Then something came into my head. would there be a possibility of a league split? with the better teams going into one league, and the lottery teams going into another. I know it probably won't happen, but just thinking about it..

Dude, that is actually a pretty sweet idea. I know that it would never happen, but it would be kinda sweet to think about. And every year, the top 3 teams of the worse league and the bottom 3 teams of the better league would switch. That way it gave teams a chance once they got better...

I would not like this at all, nor do I think it makes much sense. A lottery team from one year isn't necessarily a lottery team the next. If you did this, you would have to change which "league" they were in every single year.East and West is perfect, IMO.

I agree with Celticballa, A team might be a lottery team this year but the next they could be playoff bound. Situations like that occur all the time. You never know which teams are going to be bad or good, It would never work.

I agree with Tony and CB32. Just look at the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2004, they make the finals, and in 2005, they don't even make the playoffs.

Happens all over sports. The Tigers were a terrible team just 2 years ago, and they were a WS team this year.

Teams get good and bad over time... if they can't put together a solid team that's their fault.I like eastern/western conferences. But it could also because I hate change.

I don't see a point in doing that since the league is pretty much like that already with the two conferences. [IMG]
