JT Miller is being asked about by “every team” that the Rangers have talked about potential trades with, according to Steve Zipay. (Newsday)

Zipay thinks that Miller would be “in demand” if the Rangers want to go for another “star forward.” (Newsday)

It was said earlier in the year that if the Rangers were to move Miller it should be for a player who could help them go over the top and not for a “band-aid” type of player.

I agree with that. The ONLY shot I deal Miller is if I am getting back a big forward now that we all say wow we are a SC team for sure now. And I would want that guy to be signed past this season.

Only way I do it. Cannot deal Miller for a little upgrade or a Vermette type player. Must be a big forward who is signed for more than just this season. A guy like that puts us over the top for sure.

I think Vermette is a guy who puts us right there with anyone. A bigger guy would make us maybe the SC fav.

No to trading Miller. I just laughed when Chris Everett said Serena Williams is the most famous female athlete in the world. Earth to Chris. Nobody gives a rats ass about Serena Williams. Millions of more people care about Sharapova because she is good looking.

The only way I do it is if I get a big time player. JVR from the Leafs. Turris from the Sens. Hall or Eberle from the Oliers. Too bad the Jets are in it, I would love to get Ladd or Kane.

That is the type of player I would need if I dealt Miller. Anything less and no shot I agree. Miller is going to be very good...and soon I think.

Not a fan of Eberle at all. I wanted Turris before he got dealt to the Sens. However, he's not a fit either now. He is pretty crappy on draws as well. Ultimately, I can see them focusing in on Riley Nash for the third center role.

If you told me Turris was our 3rd line C I would sign up for that.

Point is it would have to be that level of player for me to deal Miller. And since it is unlikely that level player gets dealt, Miller is going nowhere.

Carolina is interesting. Can we get Nash and Tlusty? Adding that duo could put us over the top also.

A Nash or Vermette are targets for sure. Just not 100% sure the Canes will deal Nash...he is a RFA not UFA. I would like Nash to be our 3rd line C, but him alone doesn't put us over the top. He is not as good as Vermette let's say. That is why I mention Tlusty as well with the Canes. Unless they resign him soon, I think he gets moved for sure as a UFA.

If there was no salary cap sure Al, too bad there is a cap. We cannot afford the 8 mill + cap hit of Staal. Sure it would take more than that to get Staal anyway.

It's a win win that Miller's looking better, for the team and if needed in a trade.

I am a big Miller fan. He does have the skills we need. His issue is away from the puck, and in the D zone he is a shaky. But he will improve there as he gets more experience. He should be a good solid NHL player I believe. Maybe a 20-25 goal guy down the line. 2nd line winger or C, I like him better at wing right now.
