    It would be pretty big for the Nationals if they end up landing him. As for the Yankees I have to just repeat that until the bad huge money contracts run their course this is what you're going to have.

    There's one thing about the Nationals being the landing spot I don't get. Does having to trade Zimmerman and Desmond in exchange for having the finances to sign Scherzer hurt more than it helps?

    Speaking for myself I'm glad its done, got tired of watching MLB programming that dealt only with "Where's Scherzer going" Just rode that horse to death. And probably for the third consecutive year we'll hear the MLB staff call the Nationals the current year world champs. Now I guess they will ride the smaller Shields horse until it drops. 36 day till pitchers and catchers.
