I have been saying since Batum got signed to that ridiculous contract have said that his game is passive and he pulls disappearing acts throughout the game. I heard a great comment from the Memphis TV announcers about his game which totally put it in to perspective. Her is the comment: "Batums game is a shell of what it was in past years". Isn't it time for management to package Batum with TRob or someone and get someone who will play 100% of the time when they are on the court. Batum needs to go.
He maybe telling us in his own way that time is up here. I know this much, he's not right. I question a lot of times if his heart is in it.
Trading a guy when his value is at its lowest is a horrible idea. He doesn't need to be traded. He either needs a swift kick in the pants by being benched or rest to get his mind/body right. No one will call him weak or spineless if he sits. But we will all bitch about his bad play.
Someone at work mentioned that His Divorce proceedings are apparently really ugly. This combined with his hurt wrist could be why he seems mentally and physically not there. Maybe a little time off could help him get things straightened out and let his wrist heal some... Give Crabbe more playing time to help him develop more.
I'm surprised there aren't more call outs in the papers. There's a blurb here or there, but if Nic were playing this poorly in a bigger market, he would be getting completely shit on by the media.
Nicolas Batum's disappearing act should concern Trail Blazers as second half of season nears http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...disappearing_act_should_be_a.html#incart_2box
"Tim Tebow was seen shooting jumpers in a gym with LeBron. Is the King passing on his SF knowledge to the Blazers' next starting SF? 5-minute sportscenter segment....now"
Allstar break around the corner, Rolo and Joel coming back. I think Nico is having a hard time without Rolo and Joel...he plays really well with both of those guys
Bullshit. He needs to rest. If he insists on playing international ball again next summer, then yes, trade him for someone who has his priorities straight.
