Which player is going to have the better career? Which player is better right now?Monta Ellis: 18 ppg, 3 rpg, 4 apg, 48% shooting.Kirn Hinrich: 17 ppg, 3rpg, 6 apg, 48% shooting.
Kirk with out a doubt. Kirk is a better leader and defender... Also kirk is getting 17ppg and he is not even the goto guyThe goto guys are Deng, noc, ben then kirk...it isnt easy leading a young team Ellis is haven a breakout year though. im not taken nothingaway from him
Hinrich. He's always been able to deliver and I believe that it is the intangables such as leadership that he brings that puts him ahead.
Gotta be honest here Balla, I tyhought to myself "who the frag is monta ellis?" "why is he being compared with heinrich" But once I read the stats I was shocked.I would say he is better than Heinrich because his team is winning. Thats all I can see that separates them at the moment. Good comparison though
Kirk Hinrich > Monta Ellis, now and the future. Ellis is going to score more, he'll wow the crowd more, he's more athletic. Kirk is the more fundamentally sound player, the smarter player, he's a real leader. Both of these guys have All-Star in them, IMO, but Hinrich is smarter and a leader. I have to give the edge to Kirk without a doubt, as much as I love Monta and his development.

You know what, I'm going to say Monta Ellis.Hinrich has started way more games than Ellis and Ellis is doing great. Ellis is a Gilbert Arenas type player. Has a good shooting game, great handles, can drive and draw fouls with extreme effiency, and is oppurtunistic on defense.
This is not even a debate. It's cleary Kirk Hinrich. Hinrich plays fundamental defense and leads an offense effciently. Monta Ellis is a nice scorer but his inexperience shows and his defense is not very strong at all...

Monta Ellis actually is a good perimeter defender. While I agree (as you saw from my post above) that Hinrich is the better player, you can't take away Ellis' defensive abilities.
Kirk Hinrich easily. Monta may be a better scorer, but Kirk HInrich can lead a winning team and plays excellent, excellent defense. He's also the better passer and smarter player.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BuLLzDoMaIn @ Dec 7 2006, 02:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'> Bulls won 5 in a row brother</div>lol my bad. OK so they are both good
You gotta also add that kirk is a PG and Defends SG's.. So everynite he is defending maybe the best player on the other team..That is also why on nites he does bad.. Wasting all his energy on players such as kobe iverson Carter redd ETC so you can say hes a very good defender

Given time and experience he'll be a 25-5 player easily within a few years whereas Hinrich is close to his ceiling. So I'd take kirk now, monta future
Kirk Hinrich. Monta Ellis is more of a self-scorer, and doesn't like to run the offense or pass the ball much. Hinrich has better pg skills, better court vision, better defense...Monta might be the better scorer, but hey, Kirk will run the offense well, and that jumpshot of his is pretty nice..

His stat line was revealing: 8-14 (including four ill-advised bricks), 2 steals, 4 turnovers, 19 points, and zero assists. Like Davis, Ellis is also more interested in chasing the ball than in guarding his man. Just read this from Charlie Rosen...
Rosen's full of sh*t BCB. He called Biedrins a jump shoot player that never posts up or plays any D. That should tell you a lot about him..

Biedrins is obviously a rhythm shooter who can knock down mid-range jumpers as long as he can step into the shot. But when his feet are locked ? as they are on the free-throw line ? Biedrins shot was very stiff (0-4 from the stripe). Yes, he has quick hands and feet, but there's still something awkward about the way he moves. He said he was a rhythm shooter...he didn't fully say he's just a jumpshooter.
