Maybe if we got a little adventurous and added a little depth. You can't just sit back waiting for guys to develop every season.
No, you can develop the guys you have over a couple of seasons though, which is the direction the organization has taken. We added 2 big pieces. Letting Earl and Mo go for Kaman and Blake was a necessary change
Spurs rarely just sit around. They frequently make changes to the end of their bench looking for the right fit. When someone shows some promise, then they let them develop.... otherwise they let them go.
Yes but Ginobili and Parker were both late picks who they developed... They also don't really do that with players on rookie contracts.
I think the progress of our bench roster is noticeably improved. Just a couple of months ago nobody liked Meyers or DWright. Both have blossomed with more time on the court. TRob and Claver have both shown improvement. Claver is shooting the 3 better than folks thought. Crabbe must be injured, CJ is the rookie basically and he has skills but is trying to develop an NBA level defensive game. We are better than last season 1-15. The Spurs suffered a long stretch early with starters injured and that's why their bench consistently improves. Now's our turn. I'm optimistic about our chances to go deeper in the playoffs. I'm glad we didn't trade Leonard or TRob. I'm glad Claver is getting time and Wright is finding his shot. It's actually interesting to see these guys in NBA games and see who steps up. These injuries to our bigs are going to help our bench to become playoff ready by spring
Casey Holdahl has an article on the Blazers website with an interview with Olshey that sounds like they may be more active in trades than I thought. Nothing seems even remotely close but he did hint it probably won't be a big. He also said he was willing to use valuable assets if the right guy was available. The clincher seems to be a scorer who will play Stotts defensive schemes.

Just posted that link in another thread. I found it interesting Olshey thinks CJ "is going to be a big time player"
