Are you still watching Bowling For Dollars with Chick Hearn, and those other old B&W game shows.

In case you didn't notice the sign at the door, "please show your ID at the door".....you must of snuck by the guards..!

this is NOT about fkn game shows.

It's so damned obvious, Gardner needs base stealing tutoring, as well as a damn good hitting coach, who can turn him around. IMO, the greatest hitting coach the Yanx ever had, is now the Mgr. of the Bums. The only asswipe Donnie could not correct, rather A-Roid could not correct his own fishing for low outside breaking pitches, which A-Fraud consistently tried to pull to LF.....

Other than that, Honestly, Personally, when Gardner held out last year, I would of shit canned him....he's never been worth a dime over 5 million in my books. Therein is more the prob than your rants and temper tantrums.....

But, if your going to pay him double what he's produced or worth, then get the kid some tutors. You can't blame a kid for something he has not been taught. But Brett has been taught. He just isn't getting it yet. Hopefully soon it will all click....someday, prob when he's no longer a Yank.....Sad to say....!!!

    Onwards......

I'd like to see a MOD lock these doors you refer too.....

and.....pathetically, this is the last response your getting out of me, on this thread.

I think the others have pretty much already washed their hands of you on this one....!

and yes, bwahahaha....post #37, did you really edit that post all by yourself, or did you get a Editor tutor to do as much???? Bwahahhaha.......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Yeah that is pretty funny.

I don't know maybe Denny needs to make a suggestion to the board. Something like "To save embarrassment it may be a good idea to refrain from drinking while posting on these boards". just a thought.

First it was Tom (totus) who seemed to have gone a little batty for a while. Appears to be okay now (for the most part). Welcome back Tom. And now Blg appears to be abusing the cooking sherry with his all over the place responses.

Let me just add this with hopes that the happy juice has worn off & he'll be able to comprehend things a little clearer.

Gardner got on base 196 times last year via hits & walks. Of those 196 times there were 50 XBH (I'm sorry, that stands for EXTRA BASE HITS) So 146 times he stopped at 1st base & keep in mind I'm not counting all the times he ended up on 1st base via the fielders choice. He attempted (Now pay attention) a grand total of........wait for it....................26 stolen bases.

Maybe now by reducing things to the ridiculous you'll be able to comprehend things a little better. Hopefully I'm not giving you to much credit.

The Perfect re-buttal and Response Rick, Great Point......(and here I assumed he knew as much, but then, as Mom used to say: "assume nothing")....

Post 37 read "His".... It was regarding Gardner and it started and ended with the word " His".....I inadvertently hit the "post" button and chose to delete it instead of leaving it as is.

    Wow...you"really showed me!

I do have some more comments about Gardy and his SB situation from last year.

    Tell it to Rick.
I've been saying he needs to get on base more often....
....I know it may be too deep for some of the knee-jerkers but if he can consistently get on base significantly more than 32% of the time, the other things should follow.

From August 26 - Sept 16 the Yankees lost TEN games scoring 2 or less runs.
This stretch of games best defined, IMO, and was a microcosm of the Yankees' 2014 season and it's biggest most obvious embarrassing weakness.

In those 10 losses....in those 10 losses scoring 2 or less runs during the latest most crucial part of the season while the Yanks were very much alive for a post season spot, here's what Gardner did:

    2-27, 1 SB, 1BB, 0 Runs scored.

    See a pattern here?
Why didn't Gardner steal more bases and SCORE MORE RUNS during that stretch of games?

    lmao

Are you guys serious?....no really....are you serious?

    Any suggestions?

Feel free to send up some smoke cover. lol

We're talking Brett Gardner, you bring up Bernie Williams

We're talking about bad base running ability, you're talking OBP.

Were talking about the season (entire season) you're talking about the last month of the season.

Yeah you're right & everyone else is wrong. Hell we'd have better luck teaching algebra to a 3 year old.

    Run the clock out.
Bernie was a very fast runner who didn't have very good base stealing instincts..but he was a an excellent hitter and the fans in general didn't complain about his lack of base stealing .....Gardner is a very fast base runner who is what he is....a mediocre hitter who has averaged 38 steals per season.....so you want him to steal HOW MANY bases per year? 38? 48?
And THIS is supposed to be the difference maker in the Yankees' chances of being a playoff contender?
    I say "NO", it's not.

Just hope he can stay healthy enough to play at least 145 g per year and improve upon his BA/OBP.

My post (#51) puts a lid on this crap.

    ..."crap" is pretty accurate.

...and it didn't turn into crap until you made it so.

Hard to steal "more" bases and score "more" runs when you reach base 3 rimes in 28 PA.

Yep....when all else fails, fling some sh!t.
