Wristbands, leg-warmers, tearoff pants, etc are not going to help the league image. I understand what he's trying to do, but he's taking it to the extreme..and anything extreme is to much. Wearing a collared shirt into the arena is about the only thing I can sit back and say...well Yeah, I can see how that is going to help the leagues image. The rest of it is pure crap. He is doing nothing but making the players unhappy. The fans come to the arenas to see the players. If the players are unhappy, the fans are unhappy about the players being unhappy.Nobody wins in this situation except for David Stern. That's it. There is no point to his madness.I cant wait until the All Star Game..NBA Finals ETC so these fans can BOOOO their hearts out when his name is said on the PA and he can be embarrassed like the little fairy douche that he is.</div> Why does everyone in sports now bash David Stern for rules that he's pretty much taking from the NFL and MLB? Why? I know this is about the NBA but it's silly to bash him when it's common in other professional sports.

up until now I thought David Stern was a good Commsih. What in the world is wrong with him? Michael Jordan and all the great back in the 90's and eras before that chew gum and stuff all the time while the singing of the anthom was going down. I don't understand what made him change. NBA needs a new commish right away because it's just going to get worst and worst. What's next? Are they going to bann players from taking there jerseys off and throwing them into the crowd like Dennis Rodman use to back in the day and Gilbert Arenas does now? Are they going to stop players from chatting on the court? It's getting ridcoulous.

As usual you guys are blowing this out of proportion...but I can understand how people can think these new rules during the anthem are a little over the top.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Noah @ Dec 6 2006, 07:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Looks like that F*ck stern's been getting some lessons from that prick bush... This is just idiotic.Danny Granger, who is a Jehova's Witness, stands tilted to the flag because of his religous beliefs. Is Stern trying to erase religion? Does he even care about anything other than himself and reputation?

Yeah, if you sway too much. [IMG] I see lots of players sway and chew gum so this will be different.

One moment hes promise to lower taxes, then he has initiated a war in Iraq. Kind of like Stern, it started with a ball, then a dress code, and is slowly shifting to this. You just notice this stuff because its being outlined on this board. If you were watching basketball without being on this board, you wouldnt notice these changes, because in fact you really dont watch for how much Kobe is tilting to the anthem, you dont watch for Iverson's arm or whatever bands. Your looking to see Basketball. Guy get over this, this doesn't affect you or the game in any possible way, who cares if they cant tilt? Its not something hard to give up.

Well it's just for the national anthem. unless you got sprayed with mase on your legs or something you should be fine to stand still for 3 minutes.

If I were in the NBA, I would be fined every game then. I can't stand still while they're singing the National Anthem, it's impossible! [IMG]I have to keep shifting my weight to keep balance. All these recent rules are POINTLESS
