“The rats have been running rampant. I’m not kidding you,” Kata said. “There are people in the alley and there are still rats running around and it’s daylight . . . We’ve never experienced anything like what we’ve seen the last 12 months,” Findlay said. “We’ve had rats almost on a daily basis walking all around the neighborhood. In the streets, on the sidewalks, on people’s porches.”

"Eventually the Cubs’ ballpark is gonna be nice and new and updated and awesome. For now, though, its renovation has caused a lot of displacement, noise, traffic problems and . . . rats......!!"

"Some Chicagoans still shudder at the massive rat exodus that happened when they tore down the old United Artists Theatre in the Loop. Tearing down the bleachers works the same way; the rats love a place that’s full of dropped snack foods, move in, and take off when their lairs are exposed to the light."

I didn't read the link Rob because I heard about this last week. I think they said that it won't be completed for opening day. Nothing like reaching down for your soda & coming up with a rat. Doesn't say much for the cleaning crew. Though I've no doubt that it was long over due.

Yep, it was long over due. Incredible how rats pro-create, with approx a 30 day mate to birth.

Spread all around those nice neighborhoods, I can see the Rodent Crews working for a year longer to exterminate, those Wrigley rats, after the behind schedule Stadium Renovation is completed.

They should've turned loose a couple of squads of Jack Russell/Manchester terriers and a couple Rat Terriers to keep things in check.
