With all the talk of sky is falling and injuries, I looked up the numbers.

    With Lopez: 19-6
    Without Lopez: 13-10

That's a big difference. Lopez is coming back this week and looks rested and ready to go from what I've seen in game day shootarounds. We treaded water while he was out but things should improve when he gets back. Otherwise, what is the point having him on our team in the first place?

We should tank, try and get a good draft pick.

Good point. We also lost Lopez's backup. Of course we're gonna go on a little slide. You can only cover for the injuries for so long before it starts to show.

The fact we lose games when a key backup like Freeland goes down really shows how thin we are.

Well the person in front of Freeland went down as well. Thats not just losing one player its losing two critical defensive players at the same spot.

Getting Lopez back suddenly doesn't make Dame make his shots again. The dude needs to get out of his shoe-funk.

True, but that Atlanta loss was 4th quarter defense plain and simple.

his presence will no doubt help, but if you take out the last 10 games (2-8), they were 11-2 without him.

imagine that, having a good, solid defensive minded backup big is beneficial.

Yeah, no Lopez is a obviously a big loss.

I meant we started losing games last year when Freeland went down. Same as this year. His toughness off the bench is needed, and the rest of our bench, with the exception of Meyers, is pretty bad for the most part.

Not entirely true. better picks. more open shots because of it. A solid presence in the center keeping opponents D honest by not being able ot sneak so far out. No ROLO isn't the huge offensive threat, but he plays well enough that I think this WILL help Dame make more of his shots.

I actually disagree. The added defense will result in good offense. I also think we've been exerting way too much energy trying to play catch up. Adding Lopez and freeland will allow our team to rest easier, giving us better legs under our shot

Dame has to shoot better than 30%. Period. Better screens or not, that shit doesn't win us games as we can see.

Again, Better screens, translates to better percentage shots. Better screens means not so many outside shots as Dame will turn the corner and driver. Add Rolo in the center to block out and possibly be dished to and you will see Dames game improve. No it isn't the solo answer, but it is still part of the equation.
