http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/12284767/victor-martinez-detroit-tigers-torn-medial-meniscus They lost Scherzer and Porcello, Miggy had ankle surgery, now this...other teams in their division got stronger while the Tigers have gotten weaker.
Not to mention their excuse for a bullpen. Speaking of Miggy, it's kinda amazing the type of season he had last year playing with that serious ankle injury.
Yeah I read about Martinez yesterday. And lets not forget that Verlander has not exactly been stellar over the last two seasons going 28-24 with an ERA over 4 & a WHIP over 1.3
Verlander's current contract might look like one of the worst in the league with what's happened to him. Martinez' injury hurts them big time, though he won't be out for a very long stretch, he still has a recovering knee injury to contend with through the dog days. And their achilles heel, their bullpen. Did they do anything to help that this offseason? I don't recall seeing anything.
...personally, I think Greene will do very well in Detroit...and he'll make the Yanx sorry they traded him every time they face each other.
